Disclaimer: I don't own Severus. If I did, you'd probably never see him again...because he would be locked up in my Chamber of Love Making...;-)
A/n: Ok, so I was reading OotP for the 4th time, and after the 10 Death Eaters escaped from Azkaban, Harry was sitting at breakfast noticing all the teachers reactions to the news. He didn't describe Severus' , though. I assumed Severus either wasn't there, or wasn't in a position where Harry would notice him. I've always imagined Sev as a shadows kind of guy. Anyways, this is just how I think Severus would react to this news. Please review if you read. Enjoy. :-)
Severus Snape sat at his own dining table, staring his breakfast of porridge.
His mind wasn't on his breakfast, so much as it was on the Occulemency lesson he had given to Harry Potter the evening before. It had been the first.
That boy is a dolt if I ever saw one...thought Severus as he began to eat his porridge.
He had never much cared for a public breakfast in the Great Hall. He was a man who valued his privacy, and breakfast was no different.
Severus began to unroll the Daily Prophet, as he continued to enjoy his breakfast.
But when he caught the first glimpse of the front page, he spat the porridge that was in his mouth all over the dining table.
He saw the faces of people he had once called friends staring up at him, brooding expressions in tact, put there by Azkaban no doubt.
Rookwood...Dolohov...Lestrange...
He knew the Dark Lord had been planning to spring his faithfuls from Azkaban, but Severus had highly doubted he would succeed.
Severus let a few moments of shock pass before standing up. He grabbed the paper which lay open on the table, and left in a flurry of black robes.
He had to see Albus Dumbledore.
