Eldritch energies swirled about the mage, lashing out at his shielding spells with all the strength of a maelstrom. Blood trickled down his head, every fibre of his body and soul bent on maintaining the warding. From outside the faint, azur glow of the barrier, the caster could faintly make out faces in the storm. Smirking hideously, the beckoned him closer, harsh, grating voices entering his mind, as they dared him to lower his defences and let them in. Shaking his head, the mage redoubled his efforts to maintain the spell.
The clash of steel came close behind the mage and he risked a quick glance at its source. Instantly he felt a great surge against the warding, causing him to refocus his efforts back at the demonic tide. Howling in outrage, the beasts clawed more viciously at the shield, weakening it even as the string of constantly syllables leaving the mage's mouth sought to strengthen it. He didn't dare look back now. Not even after what he had seen.
"How much longer Teclis?" The voice of his brother rang out in the swirling winds, interrupted immediately after as he was forced to parry a downward blow from his opponent.
Teclis didn't answer his brother Tyrion. As gifted as he was in the magical arts, he couldn't hold the spell much longer. Sensing weakness, the demons surged once more against the barrier, howling in delight. Teclis grunted in physical pain as he felt them start to claw though.
"I...can't...hold," he stuttered, raising his staff as high as he could, his arm trembling with the effort, "Ready yourself brother!"
"Ready myself for what...?"
Yet Tyrion was unable to receive his answer for at that very moment, the barrier shattered. Sparks of sapphire light sputtered and died around him pathetically as a horde of figures poured forth. Raising the Sun Sword, Tyrion braced himself for the end. At the very least he would die like a true heir of Aenarion, with sword in hand.
Suddenly the world went white around him as he heard the heavy bang of Teclis's staff slamming against the ground. Outraged screeches filled his ears even as Tyrion heard the air roaring past his ears as he fell. Reaching out, he tried to find his brother. But he was gone, swallowed up by the storm along with the others. Narrowing his eyes, Tyrion tried to make out what he could but was blinded by the wind as he fell closer and closer to the ground.

Below the citizens of Magnolia looked up and fell silent as they saw a twin tailed comet streak through the night skies.
