A/N: Not sure what I wanted to achieve with this one, but it's AU, obviously, and it makes little sense (or I'm just very rusty lol). This is going to be my last one-shot for this fandom. Enjoy. :)

The silence in the room was thicker than ever. However, as strange as it might sound, Sophie didn't hate her current job as a maid. Sure, she would never forget her mother's words, that pretty much meant it was a shame that someone as high-born as her had to clean up houses for a living. But ever since she was allowed to clean up this particular study, she found herself looking forward to the task every day.

Sophie had to admit that she'd been a little wary when she heard that she was hired as the personal maid of the famous Eisenheim. Now, however, she couldn't remember why.

Every day, the same thing happened; she would greet him and he would nod silently at her from where he sat behind the mahogany desk. Then, she would start doing her job and he would be reading something, or scribbling down some notes. It would be all silent between them, but that didn't mean that there wouldn't be occasional glances. These glances had been quick ones when she had just started her job here. They would both look away at once when they caught themselves. Now, however, the stares were getting longer, heated, more intense and just flatout...daring.

Even now, the blonde could feel how a pair of eyes were following her every move as she was dusting off his room. The two had already made eye contact with each other several time today, but this was still the beginning. He could paralyze her with one look alone. And she knew it wasn't his magic that made her heart race.

The question was: how long were they able to take this before acting in on their feelings?
