"What do you guys think of Will Graham?"
Beverly watches as both Brian and Jimmy look up at the question, glancing over at the bedroom door that Jack and Graham are no longer anywhere close to. Police lights continue to flash through the window as the three continue to work with the latest victim, Elise Nichols, who lies still in the bed.
Jimmy seems thoughtful with the question and Brian simply smirks.
"What?" Beverly asks, raising her eyebrows. "Found something funny?"
"Nah, it's just... guy's pretty weird. What with all the... Sherlock Holmes crap. By the way, who exactly is he again? I mean, I know about the paper, but I'm just a little confused as to what he's doing here at crime scenes."
"Some sort of special investigator," Jimmy answers, flipping through his notebook before closing it. "At least that's what I heard from outside."
"He's not real FBI," Beverly adds in, twisting a piece of evidence around. "And I think he's unstable. He didn't give me an exact 'yes', because Jack interrupted, but I took his silence for a 'yes' anyway. You just get that feeling, you know?"
"Yeah, yeah. I just hope he doesn't get in the way all too much for this."
"Oh? You afraid of someone else stealing your job, Brian?" Jimmy says with a challenging grin.
"Of course not. As long as I do my job and he does... whatever he's supposed to do, it'll all be good. I meant him screwing up things around here. What if he accidentally contaminates a crime scene? More work and time from us."
"He's not going to contaminate a crime scene - that's ridiculous. He may not be real FBI, but he knows how to act professional. I'm pretty sure he just stands there and thinks really hard about different things involving the murder. When I came into the room that's what he was doing," Beverly says.
"Thinks hard about what, though? He has some really weird theories if you ask me..." Brian shrugs.
Beverly pauses for a moment. "But they do make sense, don't they? Especially with the whole healing thing..."
"What kind of serial killer would tuck a girl he just killed back into bed? There are a lot of crazy people out there, but how could Graham just think of that so easily?"
Beverly casts a glance at Jimmy, wondering if he is thinking the same thing. Brian most certainly does not like the idea of someone else even adding into his job.
"It doesn't matter anyway. Our part is done here; we gotta head to the lab." Beverly begins to pick up the things she needs and turned to the others. "You guys can stay here with her if you want." She nods towards the dead body. "I'm sure she'll appreciate the company."
"Nope, going," Jimmy says, walking out the door. Soon, Brian follows and decides not to worry too much about Will Graham. After all, it's not like the guy's going to be there every crime scene in the future.
A/N: I know it's not much at all, but this story is just meant to be pretty short one-shots with these characters that I see so little of in the world of Fanfiction. Basically, the lack of fic was really beginning to bother me. If you have any ideas or prompts for them, I'll definitely consider writing it since I am still struggling to get out of Writer's Block. Thanks for reading!
