Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "All at Sea" from Season 3. Enjoy and comment.

Percy and Duck enjoy working at the harbor by the sea.

And on a clear summer's night, the harbor is the best place to be.

Sometimes, the big ships bring passengers, and cargo ships bring machinery and other things.

Duck and Percy work hard to bring the cargo to the kiev-side.

One morning, Duck and Percy noticed a large group of sailboats in the harbor.

"I wish I can sail to faraway lands." sighed Duck.

"Engines don't go swimming!" snorted Percy, "because engines can't float!"

Duck still had his dreams.

Suddenly, they were rudely interrupted by Harold the Helicopter.

"Wakey wakey!" called Harold.

"I'm looking at the boats." said Duck.

"There's lots of boats here. Sometimes they have races. I fly around in case there's an emergency."

"Do you go to the horizon?" asked Duck.

"Yes, and I even go beyond the horizon!"

"I didn't know that there was a beyond." said Percy.

"Do you go to other places at sea?" asked Duck.

"Of course! I can even land on ships, anywhere, anytime! Goodbye.

All throughout the day, Duck wouldn't stop talking about the boats in the harbor.

Finally, Percy had enough,

"I rather have my wheels on solid ground!" snapped Duck. "Rails take us to any place that we wished to see."

Just then, the alarm rang.

"That means there's an emergency!" said Duck's driver. "I'll check with the harbormaster."

He returned with bad news.

"A man taking part in a sailboat race has hurt his hand. We're to take him to the hospital at the next station. Harold is bringing him now. Come on!"

They soon arrived at the dock.

"Good to see you again Duck!" called Harold as he landed carefully on the platform.

The man was gently helped to safety.

"My job is to stay at sea in case of emergencies! Otherwise, I would take this gentleman to the hospital myself! Goodbye!"

Soon, Duck set off on his journey.

When they arrived at the station, the man thanked everyone, and Bertie took the man to the hospital.

"You looked splendid flying along the line!" said Bertie. "No wonder they call you Great Western!"

"Thank you Bertie!" replied Duck. "I think engines are the happiest when they're on the rails!"

That night, Percy and Duck stayed a little longer at the kiev. The air was warm and the sea was calm.

Then, Duck noticed a shooting star.

"Don't be silly!" laughed Percy. "It's Harold hovering overhead!"

All of a sudden, something fluttered down towards Duck.

His driver caught it.

"It's a flag from the sailboat race!" exclaimed his driver. "Harold is giving it to you as a present!"

"That was really nice of Harold." thought Duck. "He may fly, but he's a great friend!"

Duck still wonders about far-away lands, but I think he knows that sometimes, the best travels are the ones we can only dream about, don't you?
