Waiting

She liked to think she was too strong to cry.

Her insides screamed that's a lie.

She never wanted to say goodbye.

Everything she knew was coming to a bitter end.

She had hoped he would never offend.

Though, even she came to realize the sad sorrow truth.

Every time she loved, he turned her away.

She had no choice but to hide at bay.

She locked all her emotions inside her.

She liked to think maybe someday… someday…

She hoped someday her prince would come.

She patiently awaited his arrival.

In truth, she started to doubt it all.

She wished to hear his call.

She longed for the one who could see her.

That someone who saw her as she was.

That someone had to be loyal.

Otherwise, he'd bring her only toil.

So she lays her eyes to rest.

She thinks that's for the best.

Perhaps he'll never find her.

Perhaps he'll never love her.

Perhaps, perhaps…

But 'til that day comes,

She will love all of him.

And she dreams a dream,

Thinking of him.

She's hung on by only a seam

And the thought he will be hers.

If only she could find him.
