Primordial

(Rewritten) Chapter 1: Of Betrayal and Plots

Perseus~

Curse the gods! Damn them to Tartarus. I did everything for them and they replace me with a freaking arrogant son of Zeus?! I will murder them! I swear by every deity out there that I will see them get their comeuppance!

As soon as I finished that thought a massive thunderclap reverberated through Tartarus. My vision blurred and when it cleared, what I saw took me by surprise. It was the three Fates and they were smiling.

I have been down here for three weeks, and now the Fates show up?! Clotho smiles at me and murmurs, "Time passes differently above little 'hero'." She does air quotes on the word hero. "Only three hours have passed above. Be calm."

I fumed silently. The air ripple around me as I struggled to control my anger. I gritted my teeth at sat down. I narrow my eyes at them and waited for them to explain. I did not have to wait long.

Lachesis began to explain. "In order to understand what will be explain, we must first dissolve the magical bindings on you." What does she mean? She stepped towards me, and one of her fingers placed itself one my forehead. I heard a roar and my vision darkened.

My vision cleared. I saw my father, Poseidon, talking to my mom. She was holding me when I was young. I looked about three years old. Something was wrong with my eyes because they were gold.

"Daughter we must go through the binding. My brother will kill him if he finds out who his father is. I won't lose my first grandson."

Mom frowned and said, "I know father." Wait, what? "Is there something else we can do?" She looked desperate.

Poseidon shook his head. "I hate having to do this as much as you do, but we know what will happen if we don't. If it is any consolation to you, I will claim him as my son if he ever goes to camp."

Sally sighed and looked at me. She looked back at Poseidon, "Promise me that you will help me explain when he reaches his eighteenth birthday. I won't lie to him about who his father really is."

He sighed and murmured almost inaudibly, "I swear on the River Styx that Perseus will know the truth about his heritage on his eighteenth birthday," Thunder rumbled in the background sealing the oath. "You do realize that he will be drawn into the great prophecy now?"

Sally nodded. "I know. After all", she said. "I was the one that bargained with the Fates to give up my demigod powers and not be the prophecy child."

I watched as they placed a leather cord around my neck with a familiar charm on it. A curling winged snake wrapped around a gold scythe. It shimmered and turned into a pegasus charm, still being gold in color. My eyes shimmer and became sea green.

I blinked and was standing before the Fates once again. Atropos held out her hand and said, "Give me your necklace." I took it off and handed it to her. She murmured something and it glowed and changed back into the scythe and snake charm I saw in the vision. She handed it back to me and I placed it around my neck.

Clotho smiled at me and said, "I do believe that it is time for a talk that your mother had promised you. We can give you four hours out of Tartarus, any longer and Zeus will know about your trip topside, but he won't know it's you."

I was about to ask what she meant, but she waved her hand and I was flashed away.

I reappeared in front of my mom in the living room. I startled her and she jumped up in surprise. I stuck my hands in my pockets and said, "Hi, Mom."

She blinked and whispered, "How . . .?"

I shrugged casually and said, "The Fates make wonderful friends. By the way, They said you had something to tell me. So . . .?" I trailed off, waiting for an answer.

She swallowed and replied, "Percy, you might want to sit down. It is a really long story. I must call Poseidon here to help me explain."

I nodded and said, "Very well, but I will warn you. I only have four hours."

She sighed and nodded. Mom walked out of the room to Iris message my grandfather, I think? It was not long before the smell of the ocean permeated the room. Mom walked in followed by Poseidon. They sat down on the couch across from me.

Poseidon began by saying, "The first thing you need to know Percy is that I am not your father. I am your grandfather. Sally is my daughter. The first daughter I ever had."

I nodded and said, "The Fates had already explained that. I want to know who my real father is."

Sally smiled sadly at me. "It began when I was fifteen years old. I was in high school. Until you were born I never knew who he was. Your father had raven black hair and metallic gold eyes. He didn't know who my father was.

He courted me. Nine months later you were born two months from the day I would turn sixteen. I did not want to be the prophecy child, so I went and begged the Fates. They laid down these terms. You would be the prophecy child instead. They would lock away your heritage and powers until your eighteenth birthday in exchange for making me mortal and not being the prophecy child.

I would have told you today like I am telling now. If it weren't for the Fates intervention you would never have known."

"So my father, who is he?" I asked warily.

Poseidon smiled sadly at me and said, "Don't you know? Who else has gold eyes?"

"Kronos . . .?" I whispered with my voice trailing off.

Mom nodded and said, "The Fates struck a deal with Mnemosyne to protect you. She has probably lifted the memory block by now."

I stared numbly at the wall. I was too shocked to say anything.

My mom murmured, "Your father would have wanted you to have this." She place a ring on the coffee table. It was a golden snake with obsidian for its eyes. I picked it up and turned it over in my hands, noting all the details. My fingers thumbed over its head and it transformed into a gold and black scythe.

I smiled and hugged my mom. "It's okay mom. I understand. You protected me. Besides, now I don't feel bad about what I am going to do next. By the way, Grandpa, you might want to stay out of this coming war. I think the Olympians might lose this one, and it might get a little bloody", I said with a smile on my face.

My mom chuckled and said, "So I guess I'm going into hiding now?"

I grinned and said, "It would be wise."

Grandpa smile at me and said, "You know I think some particularly vicious and dangerous sea monsters will some how mysteriously escape, and I won't see it. Olympus won't know about it, because it never happened." He had a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I smiled widely and hugged him. "Sadly I must return to Tartarus now." I looked at both of them and said, "Thank you, both of you, for being honest with me."

My mom and Grandpa hugged me one last time. When we separated the Fates were waiting. They smiled knowingly. I walked over to them and turned around. I waved to my mom and Grandpa before we vanished and returned to Tartarus.

I was busy for the next two weeks. I honed my legacy powers from grandpa. I also trained fiercely with my time powers. I apologize to uncle Tartarus after the truth was explained to him. He gave me his blessing and since then I have been recruiting when I haven't been training or teaching my slowly forming army.

I was taught a secret by my aunt Nyx. She taught me how to help reform immortal beings that were sent to the pit. She also gave me a new weapon. It was a glassy black bow that was made out of obsidian. I made my own arrows and she enchanted my quiver so that they would always return to me.

I trained super hard with it until I was hitting the target consistently in the area around the center. I swore not to waste my aunt's gift, and that was the reason for my hard training with it. I had different arrows with different feathers. I had several made out of Phoenix and Stymphalian feathers, it was not easy to get those.

I had started building my armor. All I had right now were the constructed gauntlets, which were cool, and my metal foot ware. The gauntlets were made out of Thracian drakon scales dipped in gold. I had fashioned claws out of Adamantium silver since it was fatal to werewolves, monsters, and mortal, demigods included. My metal foot ware was made out of a delicate system that responded to the shifting of the muscles in my feet. It was fashioned like a dragons foot.

What I currently had was perfect for climbing and sneaking around. I was also half way done constructing my vambraces and am beginning to build my chest plate. I had also forged two hunting daggers, each a foot long, made out of a combination of imperial gold and mortal steel. I was deadly with them.

I practiced my powers and with my weapons daily. I have a sufficient amount of monsters loyal to me and almost all of them are hellhounds. I have decided that it is time to seek out Mnemosyne and any other titans. I have a plan that I would like to implement. It's a devious one worthy of my father.

I haven't found him yet. Which annoys me greatly. Those pesky gods hid and imprisoned him well. I hate having to admit that.

I've also been in and out of Tartarus. I am establishing several bases of operations. Many monsters that disagree, or titans forbid it, try to kill me taste the bite of my hunting knives, Vengeance and Retribution. My bow is named Piercing Darkness and my scythe I named Inevitable Malevolence. Of course I still had Riptide in my possession.

I have only one spy at camp so far. He keeps me posted on every thing I want to know. Winning this war is going to be so easy. I have not seen the Fates since that vow I made. I wonder what they are up to.

I took me a while to find Mnemosyne, but I finally found her.

She smiled at me, "Perseus."

I grinned back, "So cuz, I'm guessing you know my plan."

"Of course, it's a plan worthy of Metis. By the way, how is she?" Her eye were twinkling.

"In her element", I said. "She is my main battle strategist along side Lelantos who is my best hunter. They make a great team."

My cousin smiled at me and said, "Consider it a done deal. I can wait to see the end of the war. When do I do my part?"

"Not now", I replied. "There is still much to do. More training and recruiting must be done. I must also find capable and intelligent leaders. I will let you know when the time is right. I, for one, am thankful for the the time lapse in this pit. It give us an advantage over the gods."

"Any thing else I need to know?"

"Yes", I said. "We must find my father."

So this chapter minus this wonderful AN totals up to 1,996. I know but I want to get this posted asap.
