She wondered how he could not notice her excitement to be around him. Sure, she was the Salon Maiden, and he was just a normal trainer, but still. There was a chemistry between them that she hadn't felt before up to this point. It was a feeling of excitement.

It was love, she soon realised, and her heart beat even more than it had before.

She was snapped out of her daydream when someone shook her shoulders. It was her love, Ash.

"I just wanted to say goodbye, Anabel," he told her. He extended her hand, showing a sign of respect for what she represented – a powerful trainer, head of the Hoenn Battle Tower, but someone who didn't let power go to her head. She took it, despite the fact that her hands were shaking slightly. Ash didn't seem to notice, however. She felt herself beginning to blush.

"Why're you blushing?" he asked. And then it dawned on him. "Ohhh, there's someone you like, isn't there?" he responded, smiling slightly.

She nodded. Behind him, she saw that May and Brock were shaking their heads, indicating that they knew who she was blushing for. She smiled to herself as she took her hand away from his.

As he and his friends walked away, she thought to herself "Guess you can't sense feelings yet, Ash, or you would've sensed my feelings for you," as she held her hands over her heart.
