Warmth

by Erin Griffin

Fandom: Once Upon A Time

Pairing: Red Snow

Summary: Snow begins to fall deep in the Enchanted Forest, and slowly, so does Red. :)

Disclaimer: I don't own these characters, but I wouldn't mind some cuddle time with Red.

For Britt.

If she was anyone else, she would never have heard it. She would have continued to sleep on in the late Winter night and not known the plight of the woman who slept on the other side of the fire. The chattering of teeth, the quick inhaled breaths woke Red from a deep sleep filed with violent dreams of hunting, the images stained with blood. Red sat up, seeing that it had snowed in the night, their fire long gone now. The woman with its namesake shook violently in the cold, her furs made from past successful hunts not being enough. Red wasted no time getting to her, bringing her blanket. She took off her scarlet colored cloak and wrapped it around Snow's body before she lay beside her and moved backwards into the woman. She then grabbed a piece of the cloak and watched as the magic of it stretched the fabric over the two of them before it began to heat up enough to keep them warm and the further snow that fell at bay. The breathing calmed, the shivers stopped, and many moments later, a hand slipped under Red's armpit and across her chest. "Thank you," came the whisper in the dark. Red reached up to touch a still cold hand, bringing it to her lips to warm it up. Then she placed it over her heart, where the small thuds helped lull the woman behind her to sleep. The wind picked up, but neither woman felt it, and soon, after Red could hear or smell no oncoming threat, the lupine woman fell asleep as well.
