A/N-Hey guys! Here's a little one shot I thought of….hope you like it!
Early Monday morning, 16 year old Troy Bolton was at his locker getting his books for the day when he heard the front doors to East High School open and close.
He looked towards the doors.
There stood 15 year old Gabriella Montez, his girlfriend of 2 years and best friend since forever, with one of Troy's old Wildcat hoodies on and sunglasses.
Troy looked out the window. Why would Brie need sunglasses when it looks like it's cloudy outside?
Gabriella slowly walked over to her locker next to Troy's and opened it.
"What's up, Brie?"
Gabi groaned. "Long story,"
Troy reached over to take off her sunglasses but Gabi pushed his hand away. "Don't, Troy."
He gave her a confused look. Something happened last night to Gabriella and he was going to find out what.
Troy reached out his hand for Gabriella to take, which she did, and they walked towards homeroom.
Once they got into homeroom, Chad and Taylor came up.
"Hey Hoops." Chad greeted.
Troy smiled at Chad.
"Gabriella, what's with the sunglasses?" Taylor asked her friend.
Gabi just sighed and laid her head on Troy's shoulder. "Long story," She repeated.
"I'll see you in our next class, ok Brie?" Troy said kissing her head.
Gabi nodded and walked to her seat.
"What's up with Gabs?" Chad asked with Taylor beside him nodding in agreement.
"I don't know but all she's said all day is 'Long story'. She hasn't said anything else to anyone. I'm getting worried."
"If anyone can talk her out of it, or help her, it's you." Taylor said.
Troy sighed. "I know. I got an idea."
Just as Troy said that the bell rang, signaling homeroom has begun.
All the morning classes passed slowly but eventually, lunch time came around.
Once Troy got out of the classroom he waited for Gabriella to come out.
When she did, she still had on her sunglasses, which their teachers made her take off, but when she did, she put her head down for the entire class.
She started walking towards the cafeteria when Troy stopped her.
"Aren't we eating lunch?" She questioned.
"Yes, but you and I need to talk." Troy said pulling her towards the cafeteria but instead of heading for their usual table with all their friends, he pulled Gabi towards the red stair case.
When Troy and Gabi reached the top, Troy led Gabriella over to the bench and they both sat down.
"Alright, Brie. What's with the sunglasses, and my sweatshirt?"
Gabi shrugged and laid her head against his shoulder.
"C'mon Brie….time to fess up."
Gabriella sighed and said, "I had a really bad nightmare last night, and when I tried to fall back asleep I couldn't so…I didn't get much sleep last night."
"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you call me last night?"
"Because, I'm embarrassed that I still have nightmares when I'm 15, Troy."
"I'd never laugh at you. I hope you know that."
She sighed again and sat up straight.
Troy reached over to take her sunglasses off and this time, she let him.
You could tell by her eyes that she really hadn't gotten any sleep last night.
"See?"
"Brie, if you ask me, you're still the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."
Gabi let a small smile appear on her face. "Thanks Troy." She said softly.
"Next time Gabriella Montez, you better call me. Or at least tell me what's wrong. You don't have to hide anything from me ever."
"How do you always know what to say?" Gabi asked him laying her head on his shoulder again.
Troy kissed her head. "I just speak the truth."
