Yubel- This isn't really much just another really short oneshot looking at Azure Kite and Haseo's relationship. It's a companion fic to my other Azure Kite x Haseo fic Voice.
Disclaimer- I certaintly don't own the .Hack franchise.
Haseo never liked to say he knew something for sure. There was always a chance he was wrong so, it wasn't logical to say he was one hundred percent right. There was one thing though that he'd say with full conviction that knew for certain. Haseo loved Azure Kite. Cliche to say but it's how he truly felt.
Was his relationship with the other unconventional? Hell yes. One of them was a high school student and the other wasn't even human, just a A.I that only existed within a online game. If Haseo did take the time to look in a mirror and be honest with himself, he'd say that's where all his fears laid.
Azure Kite wasn't real; Haseo would never dilute himself into thinking otherwise. It wouldn't matter how realistic, how life-like, The World made itself to be. He wasn't like Atoli or Shino who Haseo could touch and see outside of The World. He wouldn't grow up and move on to do other things like Haseo would. He'd never grasp the full ray of what humanity was like. Hell even the few emotions Azure Kite did understand, like love, dislike and hate, were a miracle in the first place. Most important though, Azure Kite would never live outside of The World.
Games like 'The World' weren't meant to be around forever. They're made then realesed to the media to make money. If it sells well like 'The World' it'll definitaly have sequels or other installations of course but, the game will eventually run it's course and companies will move onto the next big thing. Or something would go wrong with the whole thing like the original The World. It wasn't like Haseo had all the time in the world to be with Azure Kite.
One day Haseo brings up these fears to Azure Kite. This mostly fails as Azure Kite just shrugs it off.
He'd said nothing lasted forever, he was no exception. He never expected us to stay together forever, that's just a young girl's fairy tail. It was true they were vastly different but, did that mean anything?
"Haseo, just do me a favor okay? Forget all the bad things for a moment and be happy with the time we do have together"
Azure Kite was never a master at comfort, not by a long shot. His words made sure to stop Haseo's pessimistic thoughts though and that, for the time being, was enough.
