Tony groaned, rubbing his tired eyes as he stared at the screen in front of him, namely the empty list he was working on. The heading? "How to ask HER out." He had dozens of strategies for asking out different women, but the one he had in mind was considerably different. Checking the time in the corner of the monitor, he groaned again, seeing that it was only 0630.
"Long night, Tony?" Ziva asked as she appeared around the corner.
"Indiana Jones marathon on USA," he lied, minimizing the list and opening up some article that he didn't even glance at.
"That is the explorer with the whip, yes?" she asked, sitting on the corner of his desk. At his exasperated nod she smiled in victory, clasping her hands on her knee. "What is really bothering you, Tony?" she asked, leaning slightly forward. "We're trying to be honest with each other, right? Pour."
"Spill," he corrected. "It's nothing, really. Just, well… I'm interested in a woman and I'm having a hard time figuring out the right approach." He frowned at her expression, a mix of amusement, exasperation, and confusion that was so Ziva. Her lip twisted as she thought, and it took all his self-control not to grab her and drag her into a heated kiss.
"And who exactly is the 'lucky' woman?" she teased.
"I don't want to say," Tony said. As her expression darkened, he hastily added, "Until I figure out how to handle it. Alright?" Ziva remained silent for a few moments, before she gave a terse nod. "Now, how about a kiss?" he teased.
"I like you more as a colleague, DiNozzo," Gibbs said as he strolled in. "Grab your gear, we've got a dead Marine." As they followed orders, Tony sighed, saving the nothing he had and shutting down his computer. Gibbs walked ahead of them to the elevator, and while the boss's back was to them, Ziva surprised Tony with a quick kiss, before following Gibbs. She looked back and gave him a coy smile.
"Are you coming, Tony?" she asked, and he quickly darted after them, shouting "I'm driving!"
Review, tell me how I did.
-Zeratide, out.
