Saving Me

"Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you

Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you"

–Nickelback, Saving Me

"Kill me, Granger!"

"What?!"

"Don't play ignorant with me!" He threw his wand to land beside her on the bed. "Kill me!" He stalked a few feet away from her, arms outstretched and waited.

"I can't-!" He cheeks turned red suddenly, flustered and agitated. The tears she had been holding in flowed down her cheeks as she blinked angrily. "You can't ask me to do that!"

"Why the bloody well not?!"

"Because you don't deserve to die!"

He strode forward and grasped her wrist tightly, pulling her up against him. He leaned down, slate eyes flashing with hatred and anger as he growled, spitting in her face. "You have no idea what I have done, you crazy mudblood… No idea! Now, do us both a favor and kill me!"

"No!" she screamed and pulled away from him, taking a step back. The planes of his face darkened as he advanced on her, she pushed at his chest vainly as he pushed her up against the wall. He was barely an inch from her face, loathing swirling in his eyes. With a bruised resolve she whispered, "I have killed on a battlefield for the Light. That I can accept, but if I kill you now, I'll be a murderer."

He went tense on her, body rigid and held in place up against her. She clenched her eyes shut tight and leaned her forehead up against his own, not even noticing that he did not pull away. "I can't live with being a murderer, Draco."

He nudged her head up with his own, so that she was looking him in the eyes again. Her eyes seemed to lack the luster he knew once lurked there. He wasn't quite sure why that scared him.

It seemed that everything about her tonight was terrifying him more than he thought himself possible.

"Do you think I can live with being your rapist, Granger?"
