Harry's eyes opened and he found himself in a large, dark room with rows of seats and an abnormally large telly. He looked around and saw that Ron and Hermione were beside him, also waking up.
"Where are we?" Harry asked.
"I'm not sure," Hermione answered. "It looks like a theater."
"Where's my wand?" Ron demanded.
The three teenagers rummaged through their pockets and were horrified to discover that their wands were missing.
"No need to worry about the wands. You won't need them."
"Who's there?" Harry demanded. "What do you want."
A figure materialized before them. He wore white robes and a black cloak. His light brown hair was buzzcut and his eyes were grey. He was smiling. "Oh, it's not what I want, kiddo. It's what you want."
"What the bloody hell are you talking about?" demanded Ron.
"Oh, it's quite simple. I brought y'all here to watch stuff."
"You kidnapped us and brought us to this theater to watch movies?" Hermione asked incredulously.
"Ruddy yank," Ron muttered.
"Of course not! You're supposed to watch different versions of yourselves from alternate timelines, other universes, and possible futures. Geez, I thought you were supposed to be the smart one."
The trio was shocked.
"Other universes?" Hermione repeated. "But that's impossible!"
The man scoffed. "Oh right, if it's not written in a book, it's impossible. You know, for the so-called brightest witch of your age, you can be a real idiot sometimes."
"Hey, back off!" Ron yelled.
"Hang on," said Harry. "If you're telling the truth, why would you make us watch ourselves?"
"Finally, someone who asks the right questions. Well you see, your fourth year at Hogwarts is coming up. You guys just got back from the World Cup, right? Well, you probably don't know this, but Hogwarts is going to host the Tri-Wizard tournament this year. After the champions are selected, everything's going to go off the rails."
"The Tri-Wizard Tournament?" Ron exclaimed. "Blimey!"
"What's that?" Harry asked.
"Reason explaining now, exposition later. As I was saying, the way things are going right now, things are going to get bad, both during the tournament and after."
"That still doesn't explain why you brought us here," Harry said.
"Maybe if you had the patience to listen, you'd let me finish, Bub! Anyway, I brought you three here to view versions of yourselves for educational purposes. You guys need to learn from what I'm going to show you, which should prepare you for the future. Make sense? And before you ask, this is nothing like Divination. That stuff's pure speculation and weirdness."
"So, how long will we be here?" Hermione asked.
"Until you guys are ready. Don't worry, food, drink, and facilities will be provided. I might bring some other people in if I feel like it. Then again, I'm not sure how that would go over. The reason I brought the three of you instead of just Harry is you're such a closely knit group. I doubt Harry would really trust anyone else."
"I guess that makes sense," Harry conceded. "But won't everyone be looking for us?"
"Oh, we're in a different dimension where time doesn't flow the same way. In fact, when I send you guys back, it'll be like no time passed at all."
"I'm sorry, but this all seems very far fetched," said Hermione.
"You live in a world where people can turn rocks into animals, fly on brooms, travel back in time, and you want to talk about far fetched?"
Hermione sat down.
"Yeah, I didn't think so. Y'all ready?"
"Before we start, can we at least get your name?" Harry asked.
"Can't give my real name, but you can call me... Je'daii. Now, let the show begin!"
