Author's Note: This is a poem inspired by Romeo and Juilet. We're reading Romeo and Juilet in our English class. The idea of this poem came to me when we did an assignment on the symbolism of "night." So I hope you like it.
Night
Night.
A time of romance.
A time of beauty and mystery.
A time of love.
A time of death and tragedy.
When the stars shine their brightest,
Night.
A time to wake up.
A time to sleep.
A time of fear.
And a time when tragic, young lovers weep.
When animals come out and play,
Night.
A time to meet your one, true love.
And a time for secrets and dreams.
A time of deception,
And a time of peace, it seems.
The one time the moon can outshine the sun.
Night.
