Aragorn sat watching the fire staring into the crackling wood intently. He sighed and looked at the others, currently in different potions around the fire in the night's slumber. His eyes finally rested on the Softly breathing Legolas. Who to Aragorn's surprise was very much awake.

'Legolas? My friend, you should be asleep' Aragorn chided softly, watching the elf turn his head slightly to look at him.

'Perhaps I should be, but alas, sleep won't claim me this night' Legolas replied his lips moving gently. 'Although the sight of my birth star is comforting' Each person had a star for the day they were born. Legolas's was Gemini, the heavenly twins. Gemini was shining unusually bright this night.

'Please my friend, do try to get some sleep' Aragorn replied, turning his head to yawn.

'Dunadan, I think it is you who needs sleep. More then I.' The elf grinned slightly and sat up, turning to face Aragorn.

Narrowing his eyes slightly Aragorn said 'Lay back down and go to sleep Legolas, we cannot have you tripping over you feet when we start off again.' He knew very well it took a lot for an elf to trip over their own feet, but he was willing to say anything to get the Elf Prince to sleep.

'Aragorn please let me take your watch. I know I will not be able to sleep tonight.' Legolas said brushing a stray piece of hair behind his ear. Standing put he walked to the other side of the fire and placed a hand on Aragorn's shoulder.

'You have already had your watch Legolas.' Reminded the Ranger. 'Now Legolas, Go back--'

'You know I will not obey you Aragorn. So please let me take your watch. It is clear that you need the rest more then I. So you Aragorn, You go lay down to sleep' Interrupted Legolas.

Aragorn looked up wearily. 'There is no point in proving you otherwise, is there?' He grinned at the determined elf. Standing up he nodded. 'If there is no point, I may as well give in and take your offer.'

The Prince smiled triumphantly, and sat down in the now empty seat. 'Lay down and sleep peacefully my friend.' Watching the mortal man spread his cloak on the ground and take Legolas's recently abandoned blanket to wrap around himself and groan slightly, he suddenly felt a shiver and pulled his own cloak tighter around himself.

'Legolas, rouse me if anything troubles you' Aragorn said from under his blanket, then he sighed softly and turned his back to the other man.

'Yes of course' replied Legolas distractedly. He was wondering why he had shivered, it was not a cold night and he was sitting by the fire. He felt a strange feeling of distress and foreboding.well not foreboding exactly but something that he couldn't quite distinguish twisting its self painfully in his stomach. He tried to shrug it off, but found he couldn't. He decided to follow Aragorn's example and watch the fire. He stared into the watching the sparks leapt playfully from one log to the next, and bit his lip.

He continued to think and stare into the fire not at all watching and listening to his surroundings, as he should. After all he was on watch. He waited for the sun to make an appearance, so he may ask for someone's advice about the matter. He closed his eyes for a few brief moments only to be open them to see Aragorn's face in the fire. He shook his head and looked back at the fire, only to see it crackling back merrily at him. He sighed and looked around.

Maybe I do need sleep, he thought bemused.

He stood up and walked around the edges of the camp, still waiting impatiently for the sun to come up.
