"So Ash, where are we eating?"
"Can we go to my house first?"
"Your house. Got it."
Zac drives me to my house.
"I'll be right back"
I get to my front door. Silently, I open the door. I pick up the phone and dial Vanessa's number.
Ringing…
"Ashy baby! What's happening?"
"Should I tell him?"
Vanessa burps. "Duh!"
"Vanessa Ann Hudgens, are you drunk?!"
"Lucas… Love… Beer…"
A loud thud echoes in my phone.
"Vanessa?! Vanessa?!"
I ended the call. I ran outside to Zac. Tears flowing through my eyes. How could she?!
"Zachary!!! Zac!!!"
"Ash, what is it?!" I could tell he was worried. Tears started to flow in his eyes.
"Vanessa… She's drunk…"
"She's what?! After I get done with her, she's going down!"
"Zac no!"
"Please Ash. Don't cry. It hurts me to see you cry."
I could tell his worried feeling in his voice. I tried to hold back tears, but I couldn't. Zac hugged me tight, then he kissed my head. I remember, I told you his hugs felt sweet. I couldn't help but smile when he hugged me.
Flashback
Vanessa laughs.
"Ashy, what will your name be when you grow up?"
"I don't know."
"Come on. Here. I'll give you an idea."
Vanessa signs the word 'Zac'
"No. Vanessa. Don't you dare!"
"Ashley Michelle Efron!"
I blushed. Hard.
Flashback over
"Ashley. Don't cry."
"Zac… I love you."
"I love you too."
Zac lifted my chin. Are eyes were fixed on each other. He leaned in.
Do you know what a first kiss feels like? I don't either. But lets say it felt like a flower blooming on a bright spring day.
It's time. This is the kiss I've been waiting for 4 years.
I felt his lips touch mine. First gently, then a little harder. I could tell he was enjoying it.
After a few minutes, I pulled away. What was I thinking? Why did I pull away?
"uh.. Zac..?" I managed to stutter. I was still in shock of the kiss.
"Yeah?"
"Vanessa."
"Oh right."
On the way to Vanessa's house, I couldn't stop smiling. Sometimes, Zac would smile at me, then I would smile back. I could definitely feel it was love.
