AN: I must stop writing fiction when I should be working. I must stop browsing deviantArt when I should be writing. Maybe I should also get some sleep. There aren't enough hours in the day... The product of my twisted, sleep-deprived mind is this, based on prompt five - "shopping".
"Axel, can we get ice cream?"
"You can, Rox. I think it's too damn cold to eat that stuff."
"But we've just spent ages inside a load of really warm shops, and now I'm warm."
Axel raised one eyebrow, biting back the comment that sprung immediately into his head. If it had just been the two of them, he'd have said it and it wouldn't have mattered, but Sora and Riku were there too, and some things just weren't suitable for innocent ears to hear. Roxas, of course, hadn't been innocent for a long time – not since he and Axel had gotten together.
"If you must, I suppose. And I expect greedyguts Sora wants one too."
"I'm not greedy." Sora's indignant reply was coupled with him swinging his carrier bag and hitting Axel on the back.
"No? Then why did you eat twice as much as any of us when we stopped for lunch?"
"What can I say? Shopping is hungry work. Kairi's difficult to buy presents for."
Axel had, by this time, wandered over to the ice cream stand. Surprisingly, the guy selling the ice creams was Demyx, and they greeted each other like the old friends they were. Sora and Roxas continued to argue about the size of Sora's appetite, while Riku just watched, amused.
Having bought two sea salt ice creams (and grimacing at the thought of that flavour), Axel made his way back to the others, who took the food and instantly stopped arguing. He and Riku laughed.
"Little things please little minds."
Unfortunately for Axel, the two Keyblade Masters weren't nearly as oblivious as he thought. Both looked up, an uncharacteristic evil glint in their eyes.
"Get him!"
The three went haring off down the road, as Riku watched. Casually, he strolled over to Demyx, and asked if he sold drinks as well as ice creams.
"They'll need it when they get back here."
"Sure thing."
Down the road, Axel's anguished voice could be heard, screaming for help.
"Riku! Save me!"
Demyx couldn't help asking, "Are you going to?"
"What, get involved in that? No way. I made that mistake once and came off worse than Axel did. I'm keeping safely out of the way."
"Can't say I blame you."
A few minutes later, a triumphant Sora bounded back to Riku, while a bedraggled Axel gave Roxas a piggyback ride.
"I lost. Again."
