She could just barely remember the time when she was most happy. It was in the beginning that her passion for the Dark Lord had been full of innocent, girlish admiration and impossible daydreams… but as she grew, so too did the scale of his domination over the Wizarding World. Torture and the murder of innocents became a habit of hers; the naïve thoughts of lingering kisses and his handsome charm morphed into love for the blood and screams that so freely escaped from her victims, and an obsession for the man who led her into the life of a Death Eater. The man who exerted something so alluringly inhuman… at a whim he could bring hundreds of Muggleborns and Blood Traitors alike to their knees, begging for mercy as he ripped apart their families and homes. But he had no mercy. One was either useful to him, or one was not. If you were not, the death might be quick and painless. If you were useful to him, torture and manipulation were both inevitably in your future.
She was eternally loyal to him, and so was eternally useful in his plans to bring fear and hatred into the world. Although the ancient prejudices of Salazar Slytherin and other Pureblood families had been awake for centuries, the Dark Lord swept the Wizarding World with his fanatical blood purity mania and it became one of the most prevalent threats to peace since Grindelwald had held power.
"Bellatrix Black," they would say in a mixture of disgusted hatred and fear. "One of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's most dangerous followers; deranged, she is!" Even before her trip to Azkaban those who knew her had quivered in fear at her love of torture and mayhem. No qualms did she have about murdering the children of "filthy Mudbloods" or torturing a married couple into insanity.
The Dark Lord's name was too fearsome to even utter. Only Dumbledore had ever been foolish enough to use his name, the name that was feared above all others by every witch and wizard in Britain- that is, the Dark Lord's second name.
Bellatrix had known him when his name was nothing more than another. She had known him when all of the pureblooded families who would soon become his followers had known him as "Tom Riddle".
OOC: I might turn this into a big story if I have time. xD I'm obsessed with these characters. Tell me what you think in your reviews.
