Thursday, January 19th Shibuya, Japan

After it heavily snowed the previous Monday and there was a lot of snowed still on the ground. There wasn't a road, sidewalk, or tree branch in sight, as if the world had been covered with endless white blanket. Miso Hitori sat down on a bench that seemed to be recently cleaned off. Oyaji Saito was walking home from the Local Library from researching for project at school. She noticed him and remembered him from school as she breathed into her hands to warm up but said nothing. He noticed his sudden exhaustion from walking the whole way to and from the library and his home and he sat down next to her. He peeked over at her periodically for the next 20 minutes or so. He finally spoke up.

"Hey, you're 3rd year Miso Hitori in class B, right?" he asked

"Yeah, why?" She replied sharply

"Just wondering." He said not at all surprised at her tone, after all it was cold as hell out there despite the sun's presence. "What are you doing around here?"

"I live around here." She pointed down the street at a white house with black shingles and black curtains.

"Oh wow." He scratched his head unconsciously. "I didn't even know."

"Well, you should pay attention more." She chided. He really should.

"Yeah I guess I should." He agreed. "It's really chilly out here." He noted as his fogged in the air while he talked.

"Well, of course it is." She said standing up. "I think I should head home now to warm up."

"Can I walk with you, after all my house in the same direction?" He asked with a bright, childish smile.

She stared at him for a while and after what seemed like forever, she answered. "Sure." And with that she turned on her heel and started walking toward her house. "He's acting so frickin' weird." She thought. "Why in the hell does he want to walk with me? He barely even knows me."

"Soooooooo… What were you doing just sitting on that bench?" He asked.

She was starting to get pissed off. "You sure ask a lot of questions. But if you really want to know, I was sitting there because after it snows it seems like the world is on mute and I enjoy the silence."

He was surprised at her answer. "Wow…That's cool I guess." He started shuffling his feet unknowingly. They were approaching her house when he disturbed the silence again. They stopped in front of the imposing beast of a home. "Oh. Umm...I don't think I ever told you my name." He bowed slightly and extended his hand. "I'm 3rd year, Oyaji Saito from Class A. It's nice to meet you."

She took his hand and smiled. "It's nice to meet you too, Saito-kun." He flinched and blinked at her sudden friendliness. He took back his hand and stuck it in his pocket. "Well, I'll see you at school then." He turned away and started back down the street. Hitori started up the steps to the door and as she unlocked the door she only had one thought.

"I already know who you are, Saito."
