An encounter of the Lily kind

Severus Snape walked out of the doors of Hogwarts. Blinking in the Sunlight, he brushed his long, black, greasy hair out of his eyes. He looked at all the other students, lounging around on the grass in the summer sunlight. Suddenly he found the person he was looking for. The beautiful girl swung her long red hair onto her shoulder, her eyes widening with happiness as she walked across the lawn, towards him. They kept eye contact as she walked over. Severus thought he would burst with happiness as she walked towards him. Just one look from Lily Evans made him feel on top of the world.

"Hi Sev", She said happily.
"Hi Lily", He Grinned, his dark eyes twinkling happily.
"Want to take a walk?", she said as she looked up at him from her long, dark eyelashes.
"Su-Sure", he stuttered, taking in her staggering beauty. He couldn't believe his luck. They had been friends for ages, but recently they had lost contact. He had become depressed, as he had loved Lily ever since he had first seen her.

Lily took his hand and led him across the lawn. Her touch made him flush with happiness. The other students looked at them curiously. They wondered what beautiful, radiant Lily, would want with dark, withdrawn Severus.

Once they had walked away from the staring eyes of the other students. Lily began to speak again. They walked slowly around the lake, talking about the how the work was in fifth grade, made fun of the teachers, and talked about they wanted to be when they were older. She said she wanted to be a potions teacher at Hogwarts or an Auror. He said he was unsure, but he wasn't, he wanted to join Lord Voldemort; but he couldn't tell her that!

They reached a big old Willow tree that was along the banks of the lake. It shielded them from the castle. It was their spot. They had come here many times when they were younger, at that spot they had shared secrets, talked and laughed.

They sat down. They were each remembering the memories that they had made here. They didn't talk for a little while.

"How come you stopped talking to me", Severus asked quietly, his eyes looking down at his hands.

"It's complicated", Lily sighed, her beautiful green eyes looking downcast. " It was like a barrier had popped up between us over the summer break. It felt like we were growing apart, becoming more different."

"So why are you here?", his eyes bright with unshed tears

"I want to knock that barrier down", Lily Suddenly smiled.

"Knock that barrier down , Lil", Severus said, grinning.

Lily reached up and put her hands around his neck. Severus put his hands on her waist. They embraced tightly. Lily gently lifted her heads up and kissed him on lightly on the lips. He kissed back. Lily started kissing him more insistently, Severus kissed back firmly. They were soon making out beneath the shade of the old elm locked tongues for a long time. Then Severus said "Let's never let a barrier form again!".

"Definitely", Lily agreed happily.

Severus stood up and helped lily up off the grass. They made their way back to the castle, hand in hand.
