I do not own anything but the storyline!

Romance Waiting

Tifa stormed through the door.

"I HATE YOU CLOUD!" She yelled. Even though the house was empty, she knew that it was therapeutic for her.

"I HATE the way you walk, talk, brag, and WHINE! I just HATE IT! I HATE IT ALL!" Tifa sighed and slumped into the chair. "All I can do is wait for him…again. Damn it! This is the third time this month!" Tifa broke down and started to sob. She didnt want to be around Cloud any longer. She needed the one person who always made her feel special, loved, wanted.

"Why do you let him get to you that much my little Tifa?" It was a soft voice, and she recognized it.

A hand offered her a Kleenex, and an arm draped about her.

Vinny.

She knew his smell. She knew his warmth. She knew him.

"Vinny, you are too nice. I don't deserve it. I honestly don't!" She started to sob again. She turned herself so that she fit into his arms. Even though he was sitting on the edge of her chair.

"OH my little Tifa. You do. Oh but you do. He's not worth a damn. And soon you'll see what you have. Soon." he softly cooed into her ear.

He hated seeing her cry.

Tifa stopped crying. She blew her nose and got up.

She made the tea for both her and Vinny. Just as she had many times before this.

Vincent sat and drank his tea, but never said a word. This had become the routine ever since Cloud asked Tifa out those three years ago.

He had loved Tifa for as long as he could remember, even before she hit puberty and all the boys started to look. He just never could tell her. He tried to show it, but she only took it as a token of friendship

He sighed.

"HELL-O! Earth to Vinny! ANYONE THERE?" Tifa waved an arm in front of his face.

"Oh. Sorry Tif. Guess I zoned out." Vincent couldnt bring himself to tell her. But oh how he wanted to.

Tif. She thought. Tifa loved the way he called her Tif. It sounded so…personal. Tif. Like Teef. Or Teaf. What she really like was when he called her "My little Tifa.

Now she was just going through it in her head, playing herself the fool." It shows belongingment. She could never leave Cloud. But if she had the right man...No! she couldnt think like that. Three years had to mean something.

Just then, a thought struck her. What if he loves me? I guess I had better start explaining myself to Vinny. That certainly would explain a LOT if he really loves me! Tifa laughed inwardly when the phone brought her back to reality.

"Tifa speaking! Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Um…actually, Cloud, I'm not so certain. I have company over. I, I think we need to just move on" Tifa hung up the phone. Without even allowing Cloud to protest.

Vincent released the breath he had been holding. what if she loves me?

His answer came no sooner than the phone hit the base.

"Vincent Valentine!"

"Yes, my little Tifa?"

"YOU LOVE ME AND NEVER TOLD ME?"

Vincent only chuckled.

"You love me my little Tifa, and you never told me. So I think in all fairness, we are even."

"Well, Mr. Valentine, I love you."

"I have always loved you, My Little Tifa."

With that, they shared a simple, yet passionate kiss. A sign of affection. Their affection, for each other.
