"Exactly," Jason agreed. "Percy Jackson is at the other camp, and he probably doesn't remember who he is(Rick Riordan pg. 553)."
Annabeth's stormy grey eyes, which before sparked with unshed, finally allowed the tears to fall as Jason confirmed her fears. Clarisse, although not one of her best friends, put her arm around Annabeth's shoulder, trying to comfort her. Her silent cries didn't go unnoticed by anyone sitting around the Ping-Pong table. Chiron looked at her and his eyes told her to leave. Pushing herself roughly back from the table, she left the room with her head up and her pride damaged. Although the tears poured freely, in her heart, she knew they would find Percy.
Percy, who saved Olympus many times, who stopped a civil war that could have destroyed the world, who saved his best friend from the clutches of a Cyclops. Percy Jackson, who also saved Annabeth herself from holding up the sky. Annabeth touched the streak of grey in her hair, identical to one Percy has, after they held the sky. Her mind raced, trying to think up a plan to save him. Being a daughter of Athena, her mind normal could think up plans extremely fast. But now, the pain of loss, put her brain on overload. Plans swirled around in her lead but nothing came together. That frustrated her even more. Now tears of anger poured down her cheeks. Campers looked at her as they went about their daily business and she glared angrily at them.
Walking to her cabin, she heard someone behind her. She turned to face Piper. A little shocked that the daughter of Aphrodite would follow her, she sat down on her bed and patted the spot next to her.
"I wanted to see if you were ok." Piper said, her eyes showing sadness and understanding.
"I'm fine," Annabeth stated firmly. She looked away from the girl and down to the laptop next to her bed. She picked it up, flashbacks running through her mind. The laptop was given to her by Daedalus, a man who cried the labyrinth that was home to the Minotaur in Ancient Greece. It was one of the many adventures that Percy and herself has gone on.
Piper looked at her, knowing it was not the truth. "Annabeth, I don't know you very well but I know you are lying. If Jason disappeared without warning, I would be heartbroken. But do remember I also have learned all I know about Jason is a lie."
Annabeth looked at her sadly, "I know, but it's still very hard to think I could never see him again."
Piper nodded her mind racing, understanding that she will need to help Annabeth in any way possible. Her first instinct is to help people. It is a great feeling when things become right after a large amount of time. But she knew it was going to be very difficult to plan and then find Percy, before something happens to any of them. Unlike Annabeth, he planning skills were lacking. But while Annabeth's brain was one overload, she was going to need help. "Annabeth, i know we can figure out a way to find Percy and even if we don't, he might find us."
Annabeth looked at her. "No matter what anyone says to make me feel better, I know there isn't much hope. He doesn't know who he is, he is surrounded by people who probably know he's Greek, and all he has done for us is lost if he doesn't come back. People here will always remember him, but if he doesn't remember himself, it's not worth anything. But unlike most of the campers, I know," she emphasized," in my heart that we will find him, and we will stop Gaea, like we have stopped titans before." Annabeth looked up a new light in her eyes as she turned to Piper. "We will find him." The hope in Annabeth's eyes had even Piper convinced that they would, in fact, find Percy Jackson.
