This is my idea of how Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps would have met when they were kids so Judy doesn't have to put up with Gideon.

Young Judy was hopping along the streets, playing pretend to be a cop for she had always wanted to be a real cop someday.

That moment on, she bumped into a fox kit, about her age. He looked thin compared to chubby foxes. "Hello," Judy said, "My name is Judy. What's yours?"

"My name's Nick," the other youngster replied, "And I'm part of the Junior Ranger Scouts."

"I'm going to be a police officer," said Judy, hopping about, "And make the world a better place!"

"You know, Judy, you seem pretty nice," Nick pointed out.

"You, too," she replied.

"That means we'll make good friends," he said.

"Let's play!" Judy suggested.

"I'll be the robber and you'll be the cop since you want to be one when you grow up." At the right time, Nick playfully grabbed Judy's cap.

"Stop in the name of the law!" Judy sped after him, playing cop.

In less than thirty seconds, she caught the "robber" and snapped up her cap.

"Judy, can we play another game?" Nick asked.

"Sure, what do you want to play?" Judy replied.

"Hide and seek," Nick suggested.

"I love that game, too," Judy stated, "You count, I'll hide."

The fox stood in front of a tree, covered his face on it, and counted to ten. "One, two…"

During this, the rabbit found a place to hide in a split second, while Nick continued to count, "…three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, TEN! Ready or not, here I come!"

Hmm, she sure knows how to hide, he thought, She isn't just fast, she's also a good hider.

He looked in vain, until he finally found her.

"Want to get a pawsickle?" Nick inquired.

"Sure, I'd love one," Judy replied, as she glided from her hiding place and they strolled on their way.

The pawsickles were very good, even Judy liked them.

Later that day, Judy and Nick said their goodbyes before they left. Once in their homes, they thought it'd be best that they didn't tell their families about their friendship.

The End

Author's note: Some readers may say that Nick Wilde would've harassed Judy Hopps if they ever met as kids, but I beg the differ. Hope you all Zootopians enjoyed!
