Full Moon

As a little child, I was bitten

By a werewolf one moonlit night.

I guess that's how my fate was written.

Oh, I dread the full moon midnight.

I thought that me, my friends would discern,

And I feared that them, I would bite,

If they knew, to a werewolf, I'd turn.

How I dread the full moon midnight.

But they did become, illegally,

Animagi to help my plight,

In animal form, to be with me.

Still, I dread the full moon midnight.

Transformations, then, were past painful,

Struggling in this internal fight.

It hurts me deep down into my soul.

Oh, I dread the full moon midnight.

I need to bite, but paw at the ground,

And I cannot ignore this blight.

Silver rays and shadows dance around.

How I dread the full moon midnight.

This is all too much for me to bear.

Always, I wait for morning light,

Though I know, for me, my friends are there.

Still, I dread the full moon midnight.
