Shattered Mirror 2
Kristopher didn't want Sarah to leave, but he knew she had to. The last thing he saw of her was her back behind a closing door.
As the door slammed, both Nissa and Nikolas felt Kristopher cringe. Nissa looked up at Kristopher and saw tears rim his eyes. Nissa ran over to him and tried to comfort him, but Kristopher moved away. Kristopher looked up at her, his face streaked with tears, and saw Nissa's and Nikolas' faces. They were full of compassion.
"I'm fine," Kristopher said. He wiped his tears off his face. He collapsed into the black couch that Sarah had been on before. "Please," Kristopher said, "I just need some time to be alone." Kristopher's head pounded. Even though he had had some of Sarah's blood just the night before, he needed more. He had not fed in such a long time. He remembered that Nissa and Nikolas were still in the room. Nissa started to head out the door, but Nikolas didn't want to budge. Nikolas didn't want to move. Nissa tried to edge Nikolas out, but he still wouldn't move. "Please Nikolas," Kristopher said, "for me." Nikolas nodded, and left with Nissa. Kristopher knew that he should be strong, but he couldn't. He put his head down on the couch, his head pounding, and cried. This pain hurt even more than when Sarah had told him to leave him alone. He sat up and wiped his face dry. He sat up, his head pounding and closed his eyes. He felt the wind against his face. When he opened his eyes, he was outside a bash that Nissa's friend was holding. His head still pounded, the bloodlust growing. He went inside, and looked for a human prey. He needed blood, a willing victim. He still didn't want to kill.
He found a willing girl. He took her neck, graceful as any predator. He leaned over, and felt the weight and size of his fangs grow. He pierced her skin, and felt her blood run over his tongue. It felt so good. He drowned in the taste and in her memories.
He pulled away. He knew when to stop taking a human's blood without killing them. She looked dazed. He left her, and began to mingle, trying to forget the pain Sarah had left him in. But nothing he did worked.
Kristopher knew Sarah loved him and that she needed to learn to survive on her own without killing, but he wished Sarah had let him go with her.
