AN: Set somewhere in the not-so-distant future. Spoilers through iLY. Kind of disjointed. If reading about sex bothers you, you probably don't want to read any further. I don't think there's anything explicit, but my threshold for adult content is pretty high.

Disclaimer: If I owned it, it wouldn't be on Nickelodeon. Or aimed at kids. Or half as funny. Title, summary, and quote at the beginning come from Written in Blood by She Wants Revenge.

Then again it could go up in flames,

And I'll take you down in the name of love.

Maybe one last kiss just to ease the pain

All or nothing it's written in blood

….

They moved pretty fast for only being together for such a short time.

The way she explained it, they were young and hot-

"You think I'm hot?"

"You're all right"

-And their entire twisted friendship was basically like the longest instance of foreplay in the entire world, and they were sixteen and they might as well.

"Just to get it over with?"

"Wipe that smirk off your face."

And really, her hand was already down his pants, so what could he say?

(When the clock struck midnight they were both naked and sweaty and kissing like there was no tomorrow, and oh yeah…)

So now that they were back to whatever this thing was that was disguised as friendship-

Tension and hormones?

Sam!

-He was distracted all the time. Personal space had always been a tough concept for them, and it used to not even register, but now whenever she was close enough to touch his mind had a tendency to wander.

The way she tasted, the way she felt, the noise she made when he ran his finger down her spine.

"How bad would you hurt me if I did that to you on the show tomorrow as proof that the beast can me tamed?"

"You want that many people to know about our sex life? Kinky bastard."

How she curled into him while they slept. The way she looked in nothing but his t-shirt and a pair of underwear.

They insist that it's just like it was before, now. And it is.

Exactly the same.

Except when they fight, he pulls her hair because she likes it, and she brushes against his crotch a lot more often, and sometimes they have to stop, before they forget there are people around and they tip over the line from fighting into something else.

It's the same as before, but with less caution and more subtext.

The next time they spark, they'll explode.

("We'll never be here again, you know."

"Never say never.")

He's pretty sure it's more fun this way.
