A Good Shove
Parody of page 134, 1984.
It was quite obvious that Winston and Katharine were lost.
Where had all the others gone? They must have taken a wrong turn on the hiking trail. Winston, acting as a masculine figurine, wasn't panicking, but trying his best to find the way back as Katherine was indeed panicking.
Winston felt at a larger loss when thinking about how to calm her down. She once was a very lovely woman, but now that they have been married for three or four months, Winston found her to be quite irritable. She wouldn't listen to Winston explaining about how they will be fine, and kept insisting that they go back the way they came.
Winston looked out at the edge of the cliff at the incredible view in front of them. Turning his gaze down, he noticed something unique, tufts of loose-strife was growing between the cracks of the cliff. The one tuft had two different colours sprouting out of the same root.
Winston always admired beautiful things, and instantly called Katharine to see them.
"Look, Katharine! Look at those flowers. That clump down near the bottom. Do you see they're two different colours?"
Katharine hesitated, but came over to the edge of the cliff, peering down to the direction Winston was pointing in.
Winston put his hands on her waist to keep her from falling over the cliff. Going through his mind, however, was a rather sinister plan.
Although he would be alone, it was satisfying to live without Katharine in his life anymore.
It ran through his head very quickly, but the advantages were popping out to him more than the disadvantages.
Don't think of it as murder, he thought. Think of it as a sacrifice, for the good of humanity.
With one good shove, Winston prepared himself for the life of a bachelor once again.
One thing he believed is that he would never be sorry he did it.
