"Well, don't we just have a sunny disposition today?"

Kolya ignored the remark and with a humorless grin, stated, "We're going to play a game an exciting game. I believe you call it Russian Roulette."

John fought the urge to groan. He didn't have time to wonder about how Kolya could know about that before the bastard pointed the gun at John's head and pulled the trigger.

Flinching, John sighed as he realized his brains hadn't just been scattered across the forest floor.

Smirking, Kolya fired again, then a third, fourth and fifth time, pausing for a seemingly endless minute between each shot. "Last one," he stated as he aimed the gun at the center of John's chest and fired again.

Happy didn't begin to describe how John felt when nothing happened.

Resisting the urge to laugh at the confused look on his adversary's face, John remarked, "You really should make sure you have at least one bullet in the gun before you decide to play this game."

Tied to a large tree, hands secured behind his back, he couldn't defend himself from the vicious blow that connected with his jaw and sent a spark of white hot pain through his jaw.

Kolya took a step back, and without reloading, fired again.

John woke with a jerk, gasping. He clutched his shoulder half expecting to find a hole there and a whole lot of blood. Still breathing heavy, he flopped back against his pillow. It was just a dream.

Son of a bitch.

If that bastard wasn't already dead, he'd kill Kolya again.

Right now, he'd settle for ringing the necks of those damn bastards who'd messed with his head.
