--- A Rare Thing ---

How she'd gotten into a fight with Ginny Weasley in the corridor, Pansy would never remember. Of course it wasn't a rare thing, to quarrel with a Gryffindor, but it was the next moment, rather than the last (when Ginny and Pansy had both readied their wands at eye level) that Pansy saw herself remembering. Before either girl could have muttered another syllable, a commotion had started just a few feet away from their duel. Draco and Harry Potter were rolling around on the floor – through muffled insults and incantations, Pansy gathered that this was something of a Knight in Shining Armour deal for them. Parkinson and the Weasley girl were fighting, and neither boy, apparently, found this to be good news.

Even more amusing than the sight before them was that Pansy and Ginny, among all the noise, had forgotten all about their dispute and lowered their wands. They'd even looked directly at each other, grinned (their eyes lighting up slightly, in a strange satisfaction), and together began to walk in the opposite direction, leaving the boys to be nothing but a blur of scarlet and green on the cold floor.

That moment was the one Pansy would remember.
