To wish, to hope, to dream,
And discover things aren't always as they seem.
To seek, to pursue, to try,
I searched the earth, sea and sky.
To knock, to question, to ask,
Never waver or think of another task
To love, to find, to treasure,
Life had no greater pleasure.
To lose, to mourn, to weep,
As another sinks into eternal sleep.
To rage, to scream, to deny,
Only to fall silent as another cries.
To comfort, to talk, to stay,
Yet be alone at the end of the day.
To be shown mercy, hope, and peace,
Then listen to another teach.
To learn, to discover, to see,
Find hope restored to me.
To trust, to rejoice, to sing,
Knowing there is a higher King.
Faith, hope, and love,
All these things come from above.
