Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this fic
Author's Note: Okay, as mentioned above, none of the characters are mine. I'm
just "borrowing" them for awhile. So, anyway, this is a fic that I cooked up on the spot. I hope you all enjoy it!
Pairing: 6x9
It was dusk and the stars had started to peak through, shining down feebly through the foliage and cotton-candy clouds. The trees soared up seemingly into the clouds and vines clung to their trunks. Beyond the small forest was a beautiful mansion that seemed to be just as endless.
Lights gleamed in all the windows and the French doors were opened wide onto balconies or the patio to let in the spring breeze. Women in ball gowns and men in tuxedos walked through the gardens, danced in the ballroom, or talked on the previously mentioned balconies and patio. Garden lanterns lined the pool and outside finely dressed men roamed the mazes, playing violin or flute.
It was a grand party, celebrating the end of the war and of Mariemaya's attempted coup. All of the world's leaders were gathered there as were the ones responsible for the world's peace: the Gundam boys and the Preventers. And the return of the heir to the Peacecraft legacy.
Millardo Peacecraft, stood off to the side, watching as the party unfolded before him. Already, an hour into it, he had been approached by at least twenty women complimenting him on his act of bravery. And he had been approached by fifteen men asking about his adventures. It was quite tedious and he still hadn't seen her. He still hadn't seen Noin.
As if summoned by his thoughts, the woman he had been thinking of entered through a grand staircase. She wore a stunning blue dress and her bangs were clipped back from her face. Millardo grinned and worked around the sidelines of the party until he was directly behind her. He took a hesitant step forward and lightly touched her shoulder. "Noin?" he asked.
She turned around, looking at him inquisitively. "Yes, your highness?"
"Noin, don't do that. You know I don't want you to be formal with me..." he said to her softly. Noin smiled a little.
"What do you want Zechs?" she asked tiredly. He glanced at her in surprise as did a few people standing close by. "I mean, what do you want Millardo?"
"To talk, to catch up. To, I don't know, to be with you," he said, his voice taking on a hint of aggravation. "You haven't talked to me since I've come back!"
"Don't be silly. What do you think I'm doing right now?" Noin asked as she turned and scanned the crowd.
"Now? We aren't even having a real conversation now. I just, I just want to talk with you Noin."
"There's Une. I promised I'd meet her here. She's still worried about leaving Mariemaya. I'll see you later...Millardo." Noin didn't even wait for his response, just walked over to Lady Une, grabbing her arm and leading her across the room.
"Noin? Noin what're you doing?" Une asked. "I thought you were talking to Zechs."
"I just, I can't talk to him right now Une. Not after what he did to me. Leaving me like that. Come on, let's just, I don't know, let's do something," Noin replied. Une nodded and patted Noin's hand sympathetically. Neither Preventer noticed the man slipping out of the room and into the kitchen.
There was a crack of thunder and a flash of light and then the rain began in a steady pour. The people that had been outside quickly came back in, women shrieking about their hair or dress, men cursing about their tuxes. And no one noticed the doors to the outside closing and locking securely. A small metallic button pressed onto the knob itself...
Author's Note: Okay, it sucks. I know it does but it'll get better. I mean, it's only a prologue. I have great ideas for it! Please R&R, I'll really appreciate it!
