First Criminal Minds Fic!
Reid is my fave character. I'm SOOOO happy that he's a Whovian :D I'm so obsessed with this show, its kinda freakin me out lol. I CANNOT wait for the new episode next Wednesday.i am NOT a fan of hiatuses.
This fic is just another interpretation of how Spence got help with his addiction.
No words were needed. Not that he had any. He couldn't meet his mentor's eyes as he reached into his pocket and slid the vial across the table.
"I…I want to stop. I will stop. I just…need help getting there."
Finally, he was able to look into the man's sad gaze. His eyes spoke of his disappointment, guilt, disbelief, and, finally, acceptance. That sad smile he always wore was sadder still.
As he reached across the table for the bottle, he first put his hand over the young man's own.
"All you ever had to do was ask."
Spencer gave a sad smile similar to Gideon's.
"I know. I'm sorry." He looked as though he wanted to say more, but was unsure of what.
Gideon patted him on the shoulder, and then headed towards the bathroom.
Reid closed his eyes when he heard the sound of the sink running, trying to figure out how he felt about it. He felt the loss, but he felt hopeful too. Now that he had someone there to help him, someone he trusted, he felt so much better about his chance of success. He had a chance at getting his old life back, his old self back.
In a few moments that felt like lifetimes, Gideon returned to the seat across from him. He sat there contemplating Spencer, then again reached across to take the younger man's hands.
He said nothing, much like Spencer at the beginning of the meeting. Words were not necessary. Reid understood what he was saying.
They would make it through this, together.
There was no telling what his future held, but for now, Spencer thought it looked a little bit brighter. He and Gideon exchanged one last smile, this one holding actual happiness. Then they each stood up to face the future.
Just a short oneshot. I'm kinda thinking of possibly adding chapters on what happened next, but for now it's just a oneshot. Hoped you liked it. If you did, a review would be greatly appreciated :)
