A/N: I've read a bit of this pairing lately. And I like it. And I was listening to this song, "She's a Lady" by Forever the Sickest Kids and the first line just seemed perfect for a Nate/Tess fic. So I wrote it. It's not really based off the song much though, just inspired by it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Nate or Tess, or Connect 3, or anything else I may have mentioned that's from Camp Rock.
"You're so pathetic Nathan," she laughed.
The way she says his name, Nathan not Nate, never Nate, has always made him feel small. He knows she's aware if the fact too, because she says it in every sentence she speaks to him and lets just the tiniest smirk show when she does so.
It's always the same.
"You're so useless Nathan."
"You're being stupid Nathan."
"Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, when are you going to learn?"
"Will you just give up already Nathan?"
And if it wasn't that it was something equally disheartening.
"I can't believe you thought that song was good Nathan!" (Which was always accompanied by a laugh.)
"Honestly Nathan, you should just cut that stupid Afro off your head. It's starting to look like a creature could be living there."
"Nothing better to do on a Friday night then sit by the docks, alone? I should have figured Nathan." (This one always came with a head-shake, and he almost believed she pitied him.)
Every single thing she said to him was cruel or teasing. She mocked him. She insulted him. She pointed out every mistake he made. She had no faith in him. And he still hung out with her constantly.
She was bossy and half her sentences started with "Do this" or "Do that". And he always did this or that. He knew better than not too. He made the mistake once of not doing as she told and made sure to never repeat it.
She was always looking for a fight. She loved drama. And if he were in the right mood, he'd give her one. And he'd give her a good one at that. There were times he even cracked her tough girl image and almost made her cry. She covered it well, but he could tell. And when he does fight with her, he fights his hardest, determined to get that emotion back on her face, in her eyes, determined to get something other than anger and arrogance from her. Because he'd be lying if he said she hadn't hurt him deep in a fight before. She was vicious.
She makes him use his fame for her gain. Long wait at a restaurant? No problem, she'd just call Nathan; "He's from Connect 3 you know?" Exclusive Hollywood party? No worries! She was coming with Nathan. Oh! And that time she got in a spot of trouble for driving a wee bit too fast? Not a problem at all. "Oh You're a fan of Connect 3? I have an autographed picture of Nate here you know."
And if all that weren't enough, she treated him like most girls would treat their girl friends. She gossiped with him, though it was always one sided. She made him go shopping with her and sit for hours while she tried on thousands, or so it seemed, of dresses, shoes, pants, shirts, anything. She even made him watch chick flicks with him, because yes, she did, like chick flicks, and if he told anyone he'd "regret it more then that time he didn't do as she told him too." Needless to say, he watched every chick flick and never told a soul.
He hated her. More than he'd ever hated anyone before. And no matter what he did to deny it, to fight it, he couldn't ignore the twisted fact that he was in love with her.
A/N: How was it for my first Ness? It was harder to write then I thought it'd be. So I know it's not really perfect or all that great, but I'm satisfied with it all the same.
