Hello, everyone. For those of you who are new to this series, go ahead and please ignore it. For those of you who have been here since day one, this is simply nothing but a remake. The first chapter is still the same as the previous one, but my writing was, let's say, horrendous at that time, and it does mortify me to no end, so I am going to redo it, for personal reasons. I hope you enjoy it.
Walking down this path of the forest, well, it's like part of my DNA programming. It feels completely natural, and I feel safe. My only Pokemon, Chuchu, had sleep dragging down her eyelids as she rested in my arms. My straw hat held my long blonde hair, the wind shifting my shaggy bangs like a heated game of table tennis. I waved to the Rangers of Viridian Forest. In my home, everyone knew everyone. It didn't matter who you were.
As I was about to enter the building that connects Viridian City and Viridian Forest, I was knocked over flat on my butt. I groaned, Chuchu springing out of my arms and my straw hat blown off. "Hey, what was that...?" I hissed softly.
"Oh, oops. Sorry about that, gal. Was in a rush." The mysterious other held its hand out to me. I hesitantly grabbed it, dusting off the dirt from my behind. I soon recognized him to be a guy. He wore an olive-colored scarf that seemed to be oversized for him, an orchid velvety shirt with long sleeves, black sweats, and brown boots with a black stripe at the rim. He also sported a golden-chained necklace with an amber teardrop at the bottom.
I shook my head hesitantly, almost not wanting to forgive him. "It's fine, accidents happen," I replied. "It's nothing really, not even a scrape."
"Name's Blue. Didn't catch your name." He introduced himself, a half smirk upon his otherwise flawless face. I blushed a bit.
"Ah, my name is Yellow," I replied as casually as I could muster. Why was his voice so... So perfect? It was gentle and yet tough, manly although sweet. Was that even possible?
"So, you live in Viridian?" That interrupted my mental questions I would never get answers to. I nodded in an attempt to hide my blush.
"I-I do!" I brushed some of my hair behind my ear.
He smiled, then looked in the forest's direction. "I've never actually been there. I heard a lot of people live there. Lively, healthy lives are lived there, so it goes." All of it was true, I should know.
I nodded again. "Well, would you like to come along and see for yourself?"
He smiled again. "Sure." I felt my knees turn to gelatin, but I forced myself to lock the hinges in place. I walked into the building, with Blue following me. I tried to contain my blush. Why was I even blushing in the first place? I didn't know the stranger that knocked me over well enough. He sure does keep an opaque expression, I can't read him at all. My racing thoughts came to an abrupt halt as I could hear a beeping sound. I turned on my heel to face Blue. Sure enough, it was his watch.
"Aw, sorry Yellow, I gotta run. I'll see ya tomorrow!" And with that, he left. I instantly wished I had said good-bye. I waved long after he had left. Chuchu, confused, rose her ears in utter misunderstanding.
"Let's get some rest," I said, offering wide arms to which she jumped into. "I bet you're tired."
I wondered if I would see that Blue guy again soon. I hoped so, at least.
