A Tail to Live
By: Roxie1011011
It's not that it's a bad thing. It just happened. I was just swimming when, POOF! I had tail. Not like a kitty tail or an animal tail, a mermaid tail.
My name is Alexandria Jennings but people call me Ally for short. I live in Westport, Oregon where it is raining all winter and cold during the summer. I'm just kidding, it's actually really nice during the summer. I go to West port Academy which is really fancy and is only for rich people, well I'm not rich but my grandparents are. Oh, I forgot to mention that my parents died in a car crash. I was only three then so my now- 21- year- old brother took care of me. Then he went to college and then I moved in with my grandparents and that's where I'm at right now.
Its winter here and guess what, rain. Water is my natural enemy. Whenever I get wet, I turn into a mermaid. Luckily my grandparents take me to school in their 40,000 dollar limo. I'm not used to all of the attention so I try not to draw it to myself.
I had to walk home today because my grandma was at a dentist appointment and my grandpa was at work. Since it was raining, I was thinking to myself and telling myself that everything was going to be okay if I just stay under patios and umbrellas. I was almost home when I felt a tingling in my legs and a splash of water on my face. "Oh boy" I thought. I had to hurry up and run home and get a blow dryer then get to my room all in 30 seconds. Well I just walked in the door when I turned around and I had a tail. I ended up dragging myself up the stairs. Then, I heard the door unlock and it was my grandma. I had to hurry up and get in to bed before she saw anything. I made it to my bed and managed to get a textbook and try to pull off the "I'm studying" trick. I did it but not very good because grandma suspected something.
As soon as I dried off, I went downstairs to grab a snack. Then grandma said it was dinnertime and boy was she in a mood, I learned that the hard way on not to mess with her when she's mad.
We ate asparagus and pork chops and I could tell that she was mad because the asparagus was cold and the pork chops were undercooked. I just said that I would cook tonight and let her rest and sit down.
That's the end of the first one keep checking for my second book. :D
