Hey guys this is my first girl meets world fanfic... I've always been a big fan of BMW aand GMW and I thought I'd write a short little thing where Maya breaks down... oh god I , love Maya... the chick when plays Maya, Sabrina Carpenter, is also a singer so go look up We'll Be the Stars, by Sabrina. "You wanted a locket for your birthday," Riley asked Maya the next day at their sleepover.

"Yeah," Maya said with a half smile, biting her lip.

"Ever since you found the one at the subway? Right?" Riley smiled knowingly.

"Yeah I guess so... Riley, do you think Shawn will stay?" Maya asked Riley, tears almost spilling from her eyes. It was the most vulnerable Riley had ever seen her.

"I'm sure Maya, " Riley said pulling Maya into a hug. "He won't leave you guys. My dad has known him forever, and you heard him... he's a stayer Maya."

Maya wiped away her tears, but new ones took their place.

"I can't believe... I hate that I've always thought so badly of my mom for so long when... when it wasn't even her fault... I wish she had just told me...!" Maya was full out crying by this point.

"Maya... she just didn't want you to blame your dad-" Riley started, but Maya cut her off.

"It didn't matter if she told me that he left her, I already blame him for so much! It doesn't matter now if if I knew he left my mom, even without knowing that I knew he left me! He doesn't want anything to do with me Riley. He doesn't call, he doesn't wish me happy birthday, he barely acknowledges my existance. Who does that Riley?"

Riley knew there was nothing she could say to make Maya feel better- not this time- so she just hugged her best friend while she cried.

"You're so lucky Riley..." Maya said in the most broken voice she had ever heard out of Maya. "You have both of your parents that love you and a little brother..." Riley hugged her tighter.

"Maya... you may not have your dad, but there are people that love you. We all love you Maya-you're my best friend! If your dad isn't there for you it's his loss, because he's missing out on the sweetest, most caring and amazing person that I know."

"Thanks Riley," Maya said with a half smile.

"Cory, should we interfere?" Topanga asked him, as they could hear Maya crying from the living room.

"I honestly don't know this time Topanga," Cory said.

"I'm going to go check on them," Topanga said. Cory nodded.

OoO

"Hey are you girls ok?" Topanga said, opening Riley's bedroom door. Riley looked at Maya who nodded, not meeting Topanga's eyes.

"Yeah we're fine mom," Riley said. Topanga looked at Maya's red, tee streaked face and smiled sadly.

"Alright girls, it's time to get in bed. I love you both," Topanga said looking pointedly at Maya, and hugging them both.

"And Maya, you always have a family and a home here too, ok? Family is everyone who loves you," Topanga said, holding her at arms length.

"Thanks ," Maya said smiling a little as Topanga hugged her again.

"Good night mom," Riley said. Maya nodded as Topanga shut the door.

"Thanks Riley," Maya said half smiling at her.

"Always," Riley repiled, hugging her best friend once more.
