Her violet amethyst eye pried themselves open, as her weak voice called out that one word that her tongue loved to taste. Shaking and panting, sweat pooled on her grey skin soaking her sheets. Her hands gripped the covers as her eyes desperately searched the pitch black. They didn't seem to adjust in the darkness as she felt like she could actually reach out and touch the darkness that loomed around her. Shuttering she responded again.

"Garfield?"

Her brain seemed to be stuck on replay, stilling the last few imagines of his lifeless mangled body. A cry echoed into her chest as she turned side to side. Suddenly she felt him. His over whelming presence hit her cold body in a wave. His happy carefree emotion drowned into her as she felt him pull her back down into the bed. Her heart hammered into her chest as she drank in his comforting soul.

"Shhh." his warm soothing voice whispered in her ear. "Just a bad dream go back to sleep love." he ordered. She let out a sigh and let her pillow conform to her head.

"It was awful. There was so much blood and you-" her voice trembling as recounted the dream. "You just kept looking at me with those sharp eyes, my name falling from your lips almost like a prayer."

"I know. I know. It's over now go back to sleep." He cooed once more. Her eyes dipped down as she snuggled into her pillow. Smiling she breathed slowly smelling his perfect scent. She had to agree with his orders, her body was more than exhausted and her brain felt like she hadn't slept in years. Sighing again a yawn fell from her mouth as she spoke again softly.

"Dreams can be terrible." Once again she heard his soft hushes. Her body began to slip back into the much needed sleep that it craved for. "I love you." Her words tumbled out her mouth faster then her fuzzy brain could catch them. She could hear the smile in his voice as he whispered,

"I love you Raven." Her breath paused hearing this but then she decided to accept his confession, she was the one who whispered it first. Her breaths return back to it soft steady rhythm. Oh sweet sleep there to take her back into it wondrous arms. She felt herself falling, slowly, as she counted the beats of her heart. "Go to sleep." He requested in a ghost of a whisper. He knew how hard she fought sleep after the nightmares. Her body seemed relaxed hearing this. She melted into her soft sheets, as the pads of his fingers brushed across her cheek. That touch, his touch. The same one that made her feel whole, and safe. It scared away all her demons and monsters. It made her heart skips beats and made her knees go weak. It was so comforting and perfect.

Raven mental awareness kicked in and she bolted up nearly falling of her bed in the process. She stared at the dark her mind racing. Swallowing large breaths her lungs ached in protest, but she was sputtering not getting enough. Pricks of tears began to blur her vision as her hand rose to her cheek. Choking her voice quivered, "Gar?" she asked. She went unanswered this time. Of course she was only met with silence. That was to be expected when the person your calling has been dead for months.
