A long time,
a very long time
since we've heard the soft rhyme
Of Youngling laughter.
If you make it back to the Temple
after such a long time away
It's something we're so
accustomed to hearing.
But younglings don't laugh,
at least as much as before.
returning smiles, trick trading
you can go and visit them
and maybe they'll sing a song
or show you their best saber moves
but children can pick up on
the feelings of adults.
They know all too well
how it feels outside cozy Temple walls.
They can also tell the mood of
the whole Temple
which is somber sadder,
ever since the war.
We barely laugh,
they barely laugh.
But perhaps we would start to laugh
if only we heard the younglings laugh.
