Sam was running her usual way to work when she heard a gunshot followed by two more.
She stopped and listened as she heard the thud of a body hitting the floor and the heavy thumps of a person running away.
Sam raced into the wood just in time to see a hooded man run away from the scene but Sam did not pursue him and instead she dropped down to the ground to assess the blood pouring wounds that littered the girl's body.
She was moaning softly drifting in and out of consciousness as Sam called for an ambulance requesting a crew from the ED.
Then Sam hung up and began to look at the casualty properly. Within seconds she was putting pressure on the wound but still blood soaked her hands and clothes. She pulled out the pads she kept in her bag and put them to the wounds and although these did a better job, they were still soaked through in seconds.
"Hello I'm Sam Nicholls, I'm a Doctor. Can you hear me?" Sam said working frantically trying to stop the bleeds as the ambulance pulled up beside her.
"Mmmm." The girl replied as Jeff and Dixie jumped out of the ambulance and ran to beside her.
"Sam, are you alright?" Jeff said taking in Sam's blood-stained clothes as Dixie began to check the girl's vitals.
"Fine Jeff, We have a unknown girl around 15 years of age victim of shooting with numerous gun wounds and a couple of knife wounds too, she's still conscious most of the time although pulse is quite weak" Sam said shaking blood out of her hair.
Jeff ran to get a board and Sam and Dixie pulled her onto to it still working on her wounds.
"The Man ran off when I got here and I didn't give chase." Sam said jumping into the ambulance with Dixie as Jeff got into the front.
"Pulse is dropping… And no pulse." Dixie said as she began CPR on the girl.
"Shocking…" Sam said. "Stand Clear." Sam shocked the girl and checked her again as Dixie continued to work on the wounds. "And we're back in sinus rhythm." She said as the girl opened her eyes again.
"Hi I'm Sam." Sam said getting to work on the wounds again most of which were stopping bleeding though one looked as if it had punctured something vital. "Can you tell me your name."
"Aurora… Aurora Love." The girl said.
"Right Aurora, We're taking you in to Holby City ED." Sam said checking Aurora's vitals again.
"Please do we have to go there? Can't we go to St James's?" Aurora said.
"Sorry but that's where we're going." Sam said sharing a look with Dixie.
"But my Dad works there." Aurora said.
"Really Who is he?" Sam looked surprised.
"Doctor Tom Kent." Aurora said as they pulled up at the ED.
