His name was Kevo.

It was his ninth time in Pallet Town. He had reset the game so many times, it had gotten boring.

But for some reason, he kept coming back. Over and over, he would show up in the same town, getting the same Pokémon, and fighting the exact same battles. Everything was exactly the same. No change.

He walked out of his Mom's house and went straight to the tall grass, waiting for Professor Oak to save him once again. But he didn't. Kevo was faced with a Rattata with no means of defending himself.

He noticed the Rattata was injured, so it would've been easy to take down or catch. But he didn't have anything.

"Great." He looks around for any means of saving himself. He notices the Poke Mart salesman and yells out to him. "HEY! GIVE ME A POTION!"

The Poke Mart salesman looks up towards him, smiling. Kevo looks at him confused. "Why isn't he-" Then he remembered that you had to stand in front of people to get their items. "Alright then." He dashes past the Rattata, and grabs the potion. "Thank you very much." He approaches the Rattata in a friendly way, holding out the potion to show he meant no harm. The Rattata calms down, realizing his intent. "Phew." He heals the Rattata, and lays back on a fence.

"Agh... that was odd... Where's Professor Oak?" The Professor runs over a few minutes later. "Kevo! It's dangerous to-" Kevo looked up at him, smiling.

"Morning. You're late."
