Merida's POV

Merida was really excited! She was going to see Hiccup again! After all those years! Of course they kept in touch, by letters, but there are things you can't say to your best-friend by letter.

She was sixteen now and the last time she saw him he was fourteen. *flashback time* As a one-year-older, you would expect him to try to boss her. But no. He listened to her, he helped her and he learnt from her, easily accepting it. He would always have her gratitude for all that. But especially because of their friendship. He was her first true friend. *end of flashback time* Of course, after him she met Jack and Punzie, but it was different. He was different. And he had a crush on her for a while, which meant she could make him do everything she wanted to. She didn't usually used that to her advantage… Just for some pranks…

He is almost here! He said he would be at the castle by sunset, coming from the North, in the air. But how could he come from the air? He just refused to answer that question. He claimed it was a surprise. Bleh

Hiccup's POV

Hiccup was quite nervous. With seventeen years old, he was almost a man now. Although, he knew that around Merida he would became a child again. Just a playful innocent child.

But he was afraid she had changed…and afraid of what she would think about Toothless. His buddy meant the world to him, as well as her friendship.

Merida's POV

After a huge amount of time, she finally saw a black spot in the sky. Maybe it was him. Eagerness was filling her, as well as fear. What if he had changed? What if he didn't care about her as she did about him? What if…

! Was that… NO, it couldn't be. But it had wings… HELL, NO! That thing breathed fire! Blue fire! No, it wasn't possible! No one had ever rode a dragon! But-it was one! Coming from the North, during the sunset.

He was getting closer. Well, that messy hair was Hiccup's, for sure…An armor? But he was absolutely awful at fighting!

The time passed too quickly. A few moments later Hiccup was dismounting off the huge black beast with yellow-green eyes.

Incredulity filled her…Now he was hot! Not in a hot-cute way, he was hot-HOT! The kind of boy capable of making everyone stop and stare. As he did. I was sure my mouth was in a perfect round shape, but I couldn't help it! I was totally frozen, with warm chills going up and down through my spine.

He just walked towards me, a bit awkwardly, until I got the control of my body.

I ran as fast as the wind, running to hug him while screaming his name, with tears of all those missed years drowning my eyes, but never dropping. Gods, I haven't understood how much I missed him up until this moment!

I do believe my Mother had a word for that feeling, original of the Iberic people. Saudade. It was so much stronger than "miss". It was what I felt.

But now we were together again.

And we were invincible!
