She knocked on the office door marked 'Dr. Grissom'. 'This better be the place that bloody receptionist was talking about. Can't any Yank give good directions?' After waiting impatiently, she finally opened the door and walked into the semi-dark office. Calling out 'hello' she moved toward a desk at the end of a shelf with when closer inspected was clustered with jars, books and pictures of varies bug. "May I help you?" Kathy turned around and saw a man standing in the doorway to the office. He looked as if he was in his late forties early fifties, but she couldn't tell she was never good at guessing how old people were. "Actually can you tell me where Dr. Grissom is," she said, a thick Irish accent slurring her words. "Gil Grissom, you must be the new girl." He walked past her towards his desk, stopping at a file cabinet to get some papers. "Please sit" and he motioned to one of the chairs situated in front of his desk. Opening the file he began to skim over it. "Kathy it says here you graduated third in your university," Kathy nodded, "And you have recommendations from all of your teachers, and past supervisor." She nodded again, 'if it says it in my file why is he repeating it to me, I all ready know what's there'. "The only thing I'm curious about is where you came from before you went to Ireland." 'I was hoping he wouldn't ask that.' "I moved there after High school from here. Well not here here but US here, and I didn't feel it necessary to include that in my registration seeing as it didn't ask for where I came from." Grissom nodded and got up to put the file back. "Well you start tomorrow evening. The team meets in the break room at seven when I hand out assignments. I will introduce you to everyone. You will probably be working with me for tomorrow. Kathy I may not be the first to tell you, but you are the youngest person to ever work on this team. I hope you don't take this job for granted. Now if you have any problems please come and see me and I might be able to help." "Thanks. And you are the first to tell me that I am the youngest. See you tomorrow." Kathy got up, shook his hand and left his office. 'Well that went well' she thought as she walked straight into a broad chest, and fell back.
