Chapter One: Reaching Ginny
By the time anybody had found Ginny Weasley, she had hit rock bottom. She had fallen into such a state of depression; she was only inches from taking her own life. She had lost everything. Her family, her friends, her fiancé. She believed she had nothing left to live for. But, what did she know? She was just a Weasley, after all.
"Doctor, did you check on Ginny Weasley yet this morning?" A young, blonde nurse asked.
"No, not yet. She hasn't done anything drastic, has she Melissa?" the doctor replied, grabbing his stack of charts, sifting through until he found the one he was looking for.
"She's refusing her vitamins, and she's refusing the charm treatment," Melissa replied, taking a sip of her coffee.
"Well then, I guess I should go check on her," the young doctor smiled, and headed down the corridor, towards the War Victim unit. He stopped at the seventh door on the left, and peered in the window. What he saw almost broke his heart. He just wanted to run in and pull her into his arms and never let go.
Ginny was laying on her hospital bed, just staring at the ceiling, as if it fascinated her. But the doctor knew it didn't. She was lost in her own little world of depression, and soon, it would be the only world she knew.
He opened the door, and stepped inside, locking it behind him.
"Good morning Ginny, how are you today?" He asked her, knowing she wouldn't reply. The muggle called it Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder. They through around words like Catatonic and Schizophrenic. Ginny hadn't spoken a single word in six months. She merely rocked back and forth on her bed. "Well, as much as I know you detest them, it's time to take your vitamins." He held out a small cup with several caplets inside. She just stared at him and shook her head. "Come on, we both know you want to get better." Once again, she shook her head.
"Not even for me, Little Red?" He tried using an old nickname. The one he had given her. Before the war tore them apart.
It was back while Ginny was in her fifth year at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She, like most of her peers, loved to spend the warm spring days outside with her "Significant Other." The two could be found lying on the shore of the lake. She had her head on his chest, while he was playing with her long, red hair.
"Ginny?" He questioned
"Hmm?" She replied, confused. He had used her real name. He never did that anymore. She was his Little Red, and he was her Dragon.
"Can you promise me something?"
Of course," she said.
"Can you promise me you'll wait for me? No matter what happens?" he asked.
"You know that my heart is already yours. Nothing can tear us apart," she smiled, and felt him relax beneath her.
"Good, now close your eyes, and hold out your hand," he said.
"What are you going to do?" she laughed.
"You'll see," he said, pulling a small box out of his pocket.
"This is completely childish," she grinned, as he slipped a ring on her finger."Okay open!" he smiled. She looked at him, and down at the ring, then back at him. "It's a promise ring."
He glanced down at her hand. There was no ring on her finger. Bu seeming to know what he was looking for; she pulled a chain from out of her hospital gown. Sure enough, on the chain, was the ring . The same ring he had given her four years ago.
"You kept it?" he asked, and she nodded. "After all these years, you still kept it?"
"I-I-I promised I-I-I'dd w-wait f-f-for y-you."
