It was his Uncles Fabian and Gideon that started his obsession with dragons. He had overhead his parents talking about Death Eater attacks and Charlie was old enough to understand that they were doing terrible things doing, but not why.
He scared that they would attack the Burrow next but they told him that it was impossible because a Dragon protected the Burrow. That the creature was totally invisible until the Burrow was under threat and that it would always keep his family safe.
Years later he would think about that Dragon and wish that it were more than a story told to make him feel safe.
