Note: This fic is an AU, like all of my fics, that the barians stayed barians after the war. I mean, they're EMPERORS. If they became human then Barian World wouldn't have any leaders and would be thrown into... well, more chaos than usual. Also Vector is bipolar, because all that time being insane does NOT just go away so quickly.

On that note, I just wrote this to introduce one of Vector's pets. I'll be using him in other fics of mine.

"Oh Merag~" Vector called in a sing-song voice holding something squirming beneath his jacket with one hand.

Merag groaned and turned to face the bipolar barian. "What is it Vector?!"

Vector started gesturing with his free hand as he blabbered, "Well, some of Cathy's cats had a litter and there was a runt. It wouldn't've survived without special care and Cathy didn't have time to give it the extra care and attention. So guess who volunteered!"

Merag blanched and paled, "You didn't-"

Vector whipped out a tan kitten from underneath his jacket, "So guess who'll be living with us all! Isn't he adorable~?"

Merag let out a high pitched scream and bolted from the room. Vector laughed like crazy before he slowly switched to being sane for the first time that day. The shine came back into his eyes and he cradled the kitten. "Aw, you'll be fine little guy. I'll take good care of you."

Nasch stormed into the room as Vector fed the kitten with a bottle. "What the hell were you thinking?!"

Vector, not looking up, replied, "It would've died otherwise. Yuma couldn't take it because his sister didn't want to have a cat in the house, Caswell, Flip, Tori, and Bronk all have family members who are allergic, the Arclights don't think it's a good idea for them to take care of it because it might get accidentally done in by one of Quattro's pranks, and Kite, Hart, and Dr. Faker are all on vacation for the rest of the month."

Nasch fumed for a minute then snapped, "Fine! But tease Merag with it and you're going to be in a comatose for the next century!" he glowered at Vector before sighing, "What's its name?"

Vector's eyes lost their shine and he finally looked up at Nasch, grinning sadistically, "Well, Cathy let me name him-"

"If you named it Adolf Hissler I will scream," Nasch warned.

"Nah, great idea though," Vector smirked, "As I was saying, Cathy let me name him, so I'm calling him Onion."

There was silence for a few moments.

"I hate you." Nasch snarled.

Eventually, Cathy came by to check on Vector and Onion.

She knocked on the door and a panicky looking Merag opened it. "Hey, Rio!" Cathy greeted.

"Merag now. Remember?" Merag corrected her, still sounding nervous.

"So how's the little guy settling in?" Cathy asked.

"Alit and Gilag spend hours cooing over it and playing with it. Dumon's particularly fond of it and pets it while he reads. Misael's made it painfully clear if that thing comes anywhere near him he will throw it through the nearest window. I'm terrified of the thing and Nasch doesn't like it either. At all. Vector, on the other hand, absolutely adores it, whether he's sane at the time or not." Merag replied.

"Why don't Nasch and Misael like it?"

"Misael's slightly allergic. He starts tearing up whenever it gets too close to him."

"And Sh- Nasch?"

"Vector named it Onion."

"Oh."

"Thank god it's mostly an outdoor cat. It likes to spent all day hunting."

"Okay. Well, glad he's alright. See you." Cathy waved goodbye and left. Merag sighed and started to close the door when something darted in. She looked down and saw Onion place something on her shoes. She yelped and scrambled away. When she did that the thing on her shoes fell off and she had a clear view of what it was and screamed as loud as humanly possible.

Onion cocked his head and mewed, feeling confused. After all, she should be happy about the gift he brought her. He had worked pretty hard to catch that squirrel, after all.
