Hey guys! This is my second oneshot after a long time! Sorry I didn't update earlier but I was running out of inspiration :P Please review! Thank you!
Tsunade slammed the documents on the table loudly, holding her head in frustration. She had an appointment with Jiraiya at the bar tonight and judging from the pile of work that was lying beside her, she might need to cancel it. "URGH! THAT'S IT!" She yelled. "Screw this! I need a drink!"
"Tsunade-sama!" Shizune called out frantically, Tonton squealing in cue. "Please don't go out drinking! There's still work left to do!"
"Don't worry, Shizune," the blonde said. "I'm going for a couple of drinks with Jiraiya and there's no way in hell I'm getting drunk around that that pervert."
"Alright then, " Shizune agreed hesitantly. "But don't come back stinking of sake and Jiraiya with his arm around your waist!" But her words fell on deaf ears. Tsunade was already out of the door.
At the bar…
"Hey Tsunade!" The white-haired ninja, or Pervy Sage, as Naruto calls him, waved at the sight of his crush. "I thought you were never going to show up!" "Jiraiya," Tsunade replied with a cold nod before sliding onto the seat next to him. "Sorry, there was a lot of work that needed to be done. Shall we order now?" "Okay," Jiraiya agreed, but he couldn't hide the disappointment in his voice. 'When have we drifted apart?' he thought sadly.
A few hours later…
"Tsunade…*hic*…" JIraiya moaned. It was way past his fifth drink and he was well-known for causing trouble to whichever lady was near him when he was drunk. Tsunade glared at him fiercely, hoping her laser eyes will sober him. "What?" she asked icily. "It's so hard to believe we're all going our own way now, ya know?" Jiraiya said, staring into his sake cup. "I can still remember the time when we were all in a team and how you used to beat me up all the time when I tried to flirt with you. Hell, you were the only woman who refused to go out with me even when I asked you so many times," He laughed bitterly before downing the rest of his sake. Suddenly, he sat up straighter then usual and looked at Tsunade in the eye. "Tsunade," he said, in a serious tone that the middle-aged woman had never heard him use before. "If it's possible, are you willing to make a fresh start with me? One that doesn't involve Orochimaru?" "Jiraiya…" Tsunade looked down at her lap, feeling foolishly bashful for some reason. "I…" However, she was interrupted by a loud snore and looked up sharply. Jiraiya had passed out, snoring loud enough to wake up even the dead. At the sight of her old teammate sprawled all over the table in such an unsightly way, Tsunade's heart finally softened and tears welled up in her eyes. "Jiraiya," she whispered softly, pushing his hair out of his face. "Jiraiya, how could I possibly tell you how I really feel? You'll probably go on your travels again in a few weeks and I'll have to stay here in Konoha to sort things out. Don't you see? This is an impossible love, so let go of me. I don't think I can take it anymore if we are just friends, especially when I have this kind of feelings for you. Goodbye."
Getting up from the table reluctantly, she paid for the bill and turned around to catch a last glimpse of the perverted ninja, who was now snoring loudly, blissfully unaware of the fact that Tsunade was about to leave him forever. The hokage walked out of the bar, tears now flowing freely down her cheeks, but she made no attempt to wipe them away, determined to make the meeting in the bar their last meeting ever…
Thanks for reading! And please review! I know it's a bit short but I didn't really know what to write for it sorry!
