Author's note: SuNor, going along with my other SuNors I've written of late. To catch new readers up: they got married, adopted an adorable baby girl who's now three, and have a dog.
I am going to do a more serious fic inspired by Rihanna's « We Found Love » eventually but ever since my sister told me what her friend's dad had thought the words were they're all I hear, and today while walking and contemplating what I would have to do to move to Sweden I thought:
Awkward.
Berwald.
Aw yeah.
We Found Love (in an awkward place)
"Why would you write a song about that?" a voice asks in the other room, another less-deep one laughing. Already shaking his head Lukas takes a deep breath, entering the space. Christen's face is completely red he's laughing so hard, Berwald perplexed beside him. "I just don't get it."
"Get what?" the Norwegian asks, placing his husband's coffee on the table. When their friend pulls a face for not getting a mug Lukas tuts. "I don't have to make you things."
"No but you shouldn't give him things either," and Christen throws his head towards Berwald. "This one's an idiot."
"That's rich coming from you," the Swede mutters, sipping at his drink.
"What have you failed to understand?" Lukas cuts in. "Then I'll judge who's the bigger idiot." He had been stuck doing it for over a thousand years already.
"Go on Oxenstierna, tell the Mrs. what the words are."
"I will kill you," Berwald mutters dangerously, the Dane just shaking his head, before turning to his husband. "I don't get the song."
"What song?" Lukas asks flatly, closing his eyes slowly. He was worried the Swede would win the title of today's moron.
"« We Found Love ». Why would you write about finding love in an awkward place?"
The Norwegian's mind goes blank, his eyes wide and his mouth open, as he stares incredulously at his partner. Christen howls with laughter at Lukas's face, Berwald blushing a little and starting to finally look sheepish.
"What?"
"What do you think the words are to the song?" How many times had Peter or one of his brothers played the song? Even Freja, little Freja, surely knew what the words actually were and she barely spoke English.
"We found love in an awkward place," Berwald states flatly, as if that was obvious.
Turning to Christen Lukas says, "You win," before standing and leaving.
"Am I sleeping on the couch tonight?" his husband calls as the Norwegian heads upstairs. He doesn't bother responding to that.
