Life Goes On

She was my best friend,
My little sister, even.
We'd share secrets,
She was the first one to know I liked Ron.
But now she's back at school,
And I'm here in this tent.
I miss my best friend.
But we both have changed.
I guess it's true what Mum always said.
People change,
Shit happens,
And life goes on.
Teardrop lands on parchment
He was always there,
He was the hero of us all.
No one really knew what difficulties he faced,
No one really cared.
Everyone just thought he could save us,
They never realized it would be so hard.
I was like that, too,
'Til I got to know him.
Now, lying here, in this hidden tent,
I realize what a big job he has.
He's become stressed, upset, maybe even betrayed.
But people change,
Shit happens,
And life goes on.
Second teardrop lands on parchment
We used to fight 24/7,
Only 1 knew how I loved him,
And we always ended up best friends again.
But I haven't seen that smile, the one I love so much,
Since the day Dumbledore died.
He walked out the other day,
Swore he'd never come back.
I want him here,
I want him to hold me close,
And tell me everything's going to be okay.
But he's far from this tent, probably not thinking of me.
People change,
Shit happens,
And life goes on.

So, here's a lesson for you all.
Don't get too used to how things are.
It won't always be that way.
Because,
People change.
Because,
Shit happens.

There you have it, my first published poem. I was inspired to write this because the repeated lines are what's been going through my mind because me and my ex best friend are in our last fight and are never being friends again. But you don't care. Please tell me what you think. I'll probably have more poems and stuff, sometimes from canon characters, some from OCs. Hope you all enjoyed, and I mean it.
