The Arctic Odyssey

Chapter 1
The white snow rabbit sat on the rock by the shore of the great arctic sea, waiting for the Spirit of Iscle to come. It had summoned him the week before, telling him to travel the thirty- seven miles to this very rock. He knew a quest was coming. If he failed, Iscle would see him through.
He was tired, stiff, and impatient. If the spirit did not come soon, he would leave. As soon as he thought this, the Spirit appeared, in the form of a sly fox.
"You would dare not leave," the Spirit said. "Or I would kill you firsthand. I do have a quest for you, though. I have flown to the future, and have seen danger through these very eyes." There went his words of wisdom. "A girl and a dog shall come, looking for the Lost Ice Amulet of Princess Ivory. The amulet holds powers to release all spirits, to fend off man entirely. Polar bears will rule ice and land once more if it is returned to me. And, I will see to it that you will be put in a high position of the throne."
The fox handed the rabbit a small purple stone. "This stone will allow you to transform into anything. Become human, and befriend the girl. Help her find the amulet, then betray her and bring it to me. I will be waiting here by the sea. Goodbye, rabbit."
The fox turned into a raven, and flew off, cackling: "And David thought he got rid of me! Well, we'll see what happens when his daughter's daughter is harmed…" The rabbit was then flashed away, to a little town called Fleshings.
